Looking for the latest PS5 news and a PS5 console stock update? You're in the right place.
We've got a recap of the latest State of Play presentation below, too! Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart looks incredible.
PS5 Console Stock Update
If you're still looking for a PS5 console, we have some bad news. Stock shortages have hit the UK hard and retailers simply don't have the stock available right now.
However, Argos is due to get stock around May 6th so it might be worth keeping an eye out for more "surprise" drops ahead of the middle of the month.
Alternatively, there's CEX or an auction site like eBay. They don't have to follow the RRP guidelines, so you might be paying more than you want to be and they will most likely be second hand. If you can afford to wait, we'd advise it.
Ratchet & Clank State of Play Recap
If you missed it, we've just had a new State of Play presentation from PlayStation and it was all about everyone's favourite Lombax (and his robot... And the new Lombax that might be everyone's favourite now.)
That's right! We got around fifteen minutes of brand-new Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart footage and it's safe to say that Insomniac Games' upcoming PS5 title looks amazing. It might just be the best-looking PlayStation 5 game to date!
In the latest footage, we got a brand new look at a lot. So much, in fact, that we thought it would be best to list it below:
- Near-Instant loading times thanks to PS5's SSD
- New Traversal Mechanics (Phantom Dash, Wall-Running, Rift Tether)
- DualSense's Adaptive Triggers & Haptic Feedback in action
- New Weapon Teaser (NegaTon Collider)
- Accessibility Options (Inc. Game Speed toggle options)
- Photo Mode
- Open-Ended Exploration
- Clank-based Puzzles
- Glitch Combat
- Arena Challenges
- Aerial Combat
- RIVET GAMEPLAY
Yep, that's right. Rivet is going to be playable, as far as we know, in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. For a more detailed rundown of all this, you can check out the PlayStation Blog Post about it here.
Housemarque's Returnal is the next big game for PS5 owners and it's out today! This arcade shooter blends sci-fi horror, Groundhog Day themes, aspects of horror and more in a fantastic title that showcases the pure power of a PS5.
It's being praised for its graphics and innovative gameplay alongside its use of the PS5's unique Adaptive Triggers and Haptic Feedback.
Returnal is out right now and you can check out a deep dive from PlayStation below (if you're not sure on it yet!)
Game Updates & More
PlayStation has had a busy day updating us on a lot of the new titles coming to PS4 and PS5 over the next few weeks.
Firstly, we have a brand new look at Subnautica: Below Zero which also featured in yesterday's State of Play presentation.
Then, we have a whopping eight minutes of gameplay and commentary regarding Hood: Outlaws and Legends. This third-person title combines the thrill of the heist with the drama of fantasy-medieval combat.
We also got a new look at the Skyscraper map that's going to come to Hot Wheels Unleashed when that launches. It's still Pre-Alpha footage but... It looks very good.
