FIFA 17 Career Mode: Best Bargain Strikers

Strikers are the most important players on the pitch on FIFA 17. RealSport finds you some goalscorers who can be brought in on the cheap.

The old saying goes, you are only as good as your strikers, so it is vital you bring in some top striking talent in FIFA 17’s Career Mode. But that is much easier said than done, and with some clubs under financial scrutiny, you need to be savvy in the transfer window. RealSport has you covered, though, as we bring you the best bargain striking options.

Fernando Torres (OVR 81 – POT 81)

Fernando Torres has been on the decline ever since he joined Chelsea back in 2011, but his performances for Atletico Madrid last season showed there is still plenty of talent in the 32-year-old. The Spaniard has 83 shot power, 82 dribbling and 82 positioning, which will only cost £6 million. His starting wages of £50,000 may be a little steep, but if you can strike a cheaper deal, he may just be worth it.

Saido Berahino (OVR 76 – POT 82)

West Bromwich Albion striker Sadio Berahino’s desire to leave the club has perhaps stifled his growth, and he needs to be scoring goals again to get his career back on track. The 22-year-old has 85 acceleration, 81 shot power and 80 sprint speed for a price around the £9 million mark. His wages of £18,000 are acceptable, and with a steady growth, Berahino is a player you need to consider, whether as a starter, sub or back-up.

Klass-Jan Huntelaar (OVR 80 – Pot 80)

Schalke talisman Klass-Jan Huntelaar was amongst the best strikers in Europe a few years ago, and his desire to stay with the German club perhaps cost him from winning more trophies. The 32-year-old will be searching for one final big move in his career when his contract runs out at the end of the season, and you could take him on for just £6 million. With 86 volleys, 83 finishing and 83 composure, there are few better strikers to pick up for that kind of price, with his wages of £50,000 the only slight catch in the deal.

Marcus Berg (OVR 80 – POT 80)

With 71 goals in 116 matches for Panathinaikos, Marcus Berg knows where the back of the net is. At the age of 29, now is the time he has to make the move to a more competitive division, and for a price of £8 million, he will have plenty of suitors. The Swedish international has 83 positioning, 82 finishing and 79 shot power on the game, with his wages of £29,000, quite generous in comparison to most.

Josip Ilicic (OVR 80 – POT 80)

A name that may ring a bell is Fiorentina centre forward Josip Ilicic. The Slovenian is now at his peak after bagging 15 goals last season, the best campaign of his career to date. The 28-year-old has 87 ball control and 86 shot power, 86 long shots as well as ‘finesse shot’, ‘flair’, ‘long shot taker’, ‘backs into player’ and ‘takes finesse free kicks’ traits. These weapons can be yours for just £8 million, but his starting wages of £58,000 may just hold you back from making the purchase.

Moussa Konate (OVR 74 – POT 82)

Roger Milla, George Weah, Samuel Eto’o, Didier Drogba. There has been a great line of African strikers, and we are waiting for the next one to emerge. Senegal international Moussa Konate has had to ward off competition from Demba Ba and Moussa Sow in the national team, and his strong goal scoring record (24 goals in 46 games) for Swiss side Sion FC should receive attention from bigger European teams. The striker or right winger can be signed for £7 million, for which you will receive 89 sprint speed, 87 acceleration, 81 jumping as well as the ‘target forward’ trait. The 23-year-old’s wages will set you back just £7,000 per week.

Jeremie Boga (OVR 72 – POT 82)

Granada forward Jeremie Boga is on loan from Chelsea, but due to the Premier League club’s extensive number of players loaned out, his move has been made permanent on FIFA 17.  The striker and attacking or wide midfielder has 83-accleration, 81 agility and 80 shot power to go with his ‘finesse shot’ trait. The 19-year-old can be signed for £6.5 million with starting wages of just £720 per week.

Youssef En-Nesyri (OVR 69 – POT 81)

Morrocan striker Youssef En-Nesyri has the pace and size to be a real handful for defenders. The six foot four Malaga man has 81 sprint speed, 74 acceleration and 72 finishing, and will only cost £4 million. With starting wages of just £720 per week, this is a player who you simply have to take a punt on, especially considering he is just 19 years old.
