Bloodborne, one of the finest games on PS4, will be available on PS5 thanks to the PS Plus Collection.

However, it looks as if it could receive an updated version for PS5, running at a higher performance.

In Mods we trust

Interestingly, this has not come from FromSoftware, but Modder Lance McDonald wants to release a patch to enable Bloodborne to rum at 60 frames per second.

HOWEVER - he wants to give Sony the opportunity to release a patch themselves for PS5.

He said: "I'll be releasing this patch publicly once the PlayStation5 has released and Sony have made it clear whether or not Bloodborne will be enhanced on that system in any way.

"Out of respect for PlayStation, I want them to have the first chance to put 60fps Bloodborne into the hands of players."

Current state of play

Neither FromSoftware nor Sony have commented on how Bloodborne will be enhanced for PS5.

The original title, released in 2015, runs at just 30fps - so there would be an appetite for users to run McDonald's patch, but you would need to somehow be able to run unsigned code on PS4.
