Your first decision in NBA 2K23 MyTEAM will be deciding who your Starter will be. There are three pretty strong players to choose from as well.

At three different positions, these starter cards will likely be the best card in your lineup for at least a few days.

As always you'll start your NBA 2K23 MyTEAM Season with the Starter Cards, this year, giving you a free card to start with.

You'll be able to play with these cards in a Triple Threat game to test them out and see which ones you'd like to add to your team.

The three players to choose from are Ja Morant, Joel Embiid, and Jimmy Butler. Each of these players will provide different abilities so what really matters is how you want to build your NBA 2K23 MyTEAM.

It also looks like you'll be able to complete Lifetime Agendas and level these cards up from Emerald to Sapphire to Ruby.

Player Ratings in NBA 2K22

Before we tell you who we would choose as our NBA 2K23 MyTEAM Starter, we'll have to take a look at their ratings in the previous game.

Now, these Emerald cards all start at an 80 OVR but Morant's ranged from an 81 OVR to an 83 OVR. He also had a C to 3PT Scoring. So keep that in mind.

Morant can set a fast-paced and transition-based offense for you. He's also a high-flying dunker who goes up strong. However, his shooting and defensive abilities leave much to be desired even at the Ruby grade.

Jimmy Butler only has a Ruby card for us to use in this scenario. He has a C- to 3PT Scoring but an A- to Inside Scoring and a B+ to Mid-Range.

His defensive ability is really where Butler shines. He has an A to Perimeter Defense, a B+ to Post Defense and a B to Rebounding. He also has an A to Athleticism and an A+ Basketball IQ.

Starter Card Joel Embiid

The card that we're definitely going to choose from the group is the Joel Embiid Starter in NBA 2K23 MyTEAM.

Our reason for this is because interior strength is going to be intrinsic to gameplay this year and Embiid provides it on both sides of the ball.

Embiid is a 7'0" 250 LBS center with a B overall grade to Inside Scoring. His strength will allow him to back down smaller centers as well.

With a Post Defense of B+ and a Rebounding grade of B, we think he'll be the best NBA 2K23 MyTEAM Starter.
