NBA 2K23 has players asking several questions, primarily, whether the game is actually worth it to purchase.

UPDATED - NBA 2K23 Review

When doing any kind of review on a game, you have to ask yourself the hard questions and the same goes for NBA 2K23.

From improvements such as MyNBA Eras to slight disappointments in The City, there are several things that we covered during our review.

NBA 2K23 Release Date

NBA 2K23 came out on September 9th. Unfortunately, there wasn't any Early Access for the game this year but its been smooth so far.

Although the pre order rewards for NBA 2K23 aren't available anymore, you can still grab all of the game's special editions.

NBA 2K23 Cover Athletes

The NBA 2K23 cover athletes were Devin Booker, who will front the covers for the NBA 2K23 Standard Edition, and Michael Jordan, who will front the Michael Jordan and Championship Editions.

From the image, you can see a glimpse of the color scheme for the cover. From what we can tell, the sunset theme fits in perfectly with the Phoenix Suns.

For other NBA 2K23 covers, including the NBA 2K23 Michael Jordan Edition and Championship Edition, both will feature Michael Jordan as their cover star, with his namesake edition featuring Jordan himself, and the Championship Edition featuring his jersey.

NBA 2K23 Gameplay Trailer

2K has now dropped the official gameplay trailer for NBA 2K23.

NBA 2K23 Editions: Rewards, Prices, Covers, & Latest News

2K have officially revealed the special editions players can expect come NBA 2K23. These include the NBA 2K23 Standard Edition, NBA 2K23 Michael Jordan Edition, and NBA 2K23 Championship Edition.

We break down each of these editions and what we know about each so far below. Information like price and preorder rewards will be confirmed by an announcement on July 7th.

Platforms & Game Modes

One big question for players approaching NBA 2K23 is what game modes will be available on what platforms.

As it stands, NBA 2K22 offers current-gen specific content for players on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. This includes Casa Del Mar in place of The City which is its new and improved evolution for next gen, and MyLEAGUE/MyGM in place of the newly combined MyNBA which is also exclusive to next-gen consoles.

If 2K continues in this direction, players will have a much better experience with NBA 2k23 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S - including exclusive features and even big improvements on game modes available in both versions like MyCAREER.

The highest rated player in NBA 2K23 is Giannis Antetokounmpo, coming in at 97 OVR and he's the sole player with that rating.

Behind him is LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Nikola Jokic, and Joel Embiid, all with ratings of 96 OVR.

NBA 2K23 Gameplay Features

NBA 2K23 is going to shake up gameplay massively with tons of changes and new features already revealed.

This includes 20 different Shot Meters to choose from, new badges, new pro stick gestures, a new tier system for badges on next-gen consoles, defensive AI changes, dribble move nerfs, and plenty more.

NBA 2K23 MyNBA Eras Game Mode Revealed

The latest Courtside Report gave us all of the information on NBA 2K23 MyNBA Eras, which will let players control teams from the 1980s to today.

From the Magic vs. Bird era to Kobe's dominance in the early 2000s, experience every moment with new features and commentary.

We took a look at the best teams of those eras that you'll likely want to use when NBA 2K23 finally releases. However, you might want to build your team from the ground up and draft Michael Jordan yourself in 1984.

NBA 2K23 MyTEAM Features

The latest NBA 2K23 courtside report broke down the game's MyTEAM features, including the removal of Contracts, some new game mode options, and some of the first cards that will be available.

Here's what's new in NBA 2K23 MyTEAM.

NBA 2K23 MyTEAM Starters

The latest reveals include showing off the three NBA 2K23 MyTEAM Starters players can pick between, which will include Ja Morant, Joel Embiid, and Jimmy Butler.

These cards will improve once upgraded and give players something to build around early on in MyTEAM.

No More Contracts

With Contracts removed from the NBA 2K23 MyTEAM ecosystem, it means one less drain on MT when building your ultimate team dream squad.

New Game Modes

For new game modes, NBA 2K23 MyTEAM will also introduce Triple Threat Online Co-Op, where players can create parties of 3 players, and a Clutch Time Single Player mode.
