MLB The Show 21 adding Field of Dreams for all platforms

MLB The Show 21 has consistently brought new content to the game since launching back in April, but things are changing up this time with the legendary Field of Dreams coming to the game.

The location was already attainable to certain players, but soon everyone with MLB The Show 21 will be able to experience the Field of Dreams.

How to Unlock Field of Dreams in MLB The Show 21

If you're one of the many baseball fans or MLB The Show 21 players who vividly remembers watching Kevin Costner in Field of Dreams, then that fun is about to get injected right into your game.

On August 10, 2021, players will receive a free content update that adds the Field of Dreams in MLB The Show 21 as a playable stadium.

While not announced, it's likely the content update will arrive at Noon PT (3pm ET/2pm CT), which has become standard for all new content in MLB The Show 21.

You won't have to do anything extra to unlock Field of Dreams, as it should be available and playable for all once the content update has gone live.

However, it's worth noting that some players have been able to experience a version of Field of Dreams since the very beginning.

If you have MLB The Show 21 on Xbox Series X|S or PS5, one of the next gen exclusive features is Stadium Creator where players can create the Field of Dreams.

Field of Dreams breaks free from Stadium Creator

An ambitious addition, and one that felt properly in need of the next gen hardware it's tied to, Stadium Creator arrived for the first time this year in MLB The Show 21.

The custom field creation mode offers over a thousand unique props of varying sizes and lets players either create the field of their own dreams or iconic locations like the Field of Dreams.

Just before the title launched, we outlined some of the props that should be available in Stadium Creator and made sure to mention the cornfield from Field of Dreams.

While the mode was exciting and fun to experiment with, it was clunky at launch and missing a critically important search function which allowed players to find and download creations by others.

As soon as the ability to search was added with Game Update 3, most players were off to the races and trying to find their favorite unique locations.

Fortunately, the new content update adds a pristine version of Field of Dreams, rather than the imperfect Stadium Creator versions, and it won't be exclusive to next gen.

Field of Dreams is being added as a playable in-game stadium, likely grouped with the other unique classic stadiums already in MLB The Show 21, and will be playable on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.
