Madden 25 99 Club: Who is in this year?

Unlike its cousin EA Sports FC the Madden ratings team don't shy from giving out the maximum score, so who will make the Madden 25 99 Club when the game launches?

Madden 24 wrapped up its roster updates with six players in the 99 Club, but how many will we have this year, and who is likely to get that coveted 99 OVR rating when the new game comes out?

Let's take a look!

Madden 25 99 Club

The Kansas City Chiefs are the first team to win back-to-back Super Bowls since the New England Patriots managed it in the early 2000s. Having ended Madden 24 with two 99 OVR players we can be pretty certain in staying that Patrick Mahomes & Travis Kelce will start Madden 25 in the 99 Club.

Mahomes has long been the best QB in the NFL, and Kelce is his most prolific weapon. This duo will be tough to beat in Franchise Mode.

Another carry-over from the end of Madden 24 should be Tyreek Hill who racked up 1,799 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns with Miami in 2023 despite being limited late in the season thanks to injury. Hill is likely to keep his unbeatable 99 speed & 99 acceleration too, to be the deadliest receiver in the game.

The newly-crowned Offensive Player of the Year Christian McCaffrey should also keep his 99 OVR. The 49ers running back put up more than 2,000 yards from scrimmage and 21 touchdowns in a dominant season.

Newcomers

Following the retirement of Aaron Donald, there is a spot in the 99 Club for a defensive player, and there are a few names that could make the leap up.

Both Micah Parsons and Myles Garrett ended Madden 24 at 98 OVR and have the range of skills and dominant performances that could justify a bump to 99 OVR. It's a similar story for TJ Watt, their perennial rival on the edge, who could also make the jump to 99 OVR.

It's unlikely all of them get into the 99 Club at the start of the game. If we had to pick one then Myles Garrett, as reigning Defensive Player of the Year, would be our choice.

Longshots

There are a few other players who would be notable additions but are unlikely to make it into the 99 Club at launch.

Veteran offensive linemen Trent Williams and Zack Martin are rounding off Hall of Fame level careers and would be completely justifiable additions to the 99 Club.

Defensive tackle Chris Jones would also be a worthy addition, but that might make the Chiefs a bit too OP in Franchise Mode.

Madden 25 release date

So when will Madden 25 come out? Well, Madden has followed a pretty stringent pattern for its releases over the last few years.

That means we can expect Madden 25, or whatever EA calls it since it already has a game called Madden 25, on 16 August. This is the third Friday in August, the same time the last few games have been released.

There should also be three days of early access for getting the Deluxe Edition, so players could get into the game on 13 August.
