We've finally received news on the upcoming Madden 22 Franchise Mode Scouting Update, and its new release date now that it's been delayed from its original projected launch.

Let's get you up to speed on the Scouting update delay for Madden 22, and EA's new deep dive on its features.

New Release Date for Scouting Update

Originally, EA gave players a mid-September Scouting Update release date. Once it was missing from the Madden 22 September Title Update, though, many players suspected it would be pushed back - and a new announcement has finally confirmed it.

The Madden 22 Scouting Update has a new release date of mid-October - and it will be a part of the October Title Update.

New Features in the Scouting Update

Although the release date was moved back, players should be happy about the features that will be added. Prospect percentages and a full scouting department are just the tip of the iceberg.

Some of the features you can expect are:

  • In-depth scouting reports including player physicals, traits, and ratings
  • News content that will move players up or down the media big board, impacting draft stock
  • Mock drafts providing a snapshot of who teams are interested in throughout the season

With these additions you'll have more control than ever before in Franchise Mode with the Scouting update, it's just unfortunate that we'll have to wait so long to experience it.

What else is coming in the October Title Update?

October might be a while away, but there are some updates other than Scouting that we expect to make their way into the next big Madden 22 Title Update.

Most tackle major bugs that have been a thorn in the community's side since launch.

These potential bug fixes in the Madden 22 October Title Update include:

  • Zone Coverage bug fix (players will leave designated zones)
  • Xbox Series X|S Hard Crashes
  • Quick Match bug fix (occasionally matches that are unable to start count as losses)

Hopefully, we see at least a couple of those bug fixes brought to Madden 22 in the October Title Update, especially since EA was so quick to fix the many major Franchise bugs on launch.
