Madden 22 Campus Heroes: Three Players We Need to See Next in MUT 22

Campus Heroes is the newest available set in Madden 22 Ultimate Team, following up on the new Superstar KO mode, Campus Legends.

The set offers some of the greatest college football players in history and brings them to MUT 22, but three historic players missed out, and EA has to make it right.

Whether it's a snub or groundwork for a future release, here's three players we need to see in the MUT 22 Campus Heroes lineup.

Madden 22 Campus Heroes We Need to See Next

Charles Woodson - CB - Michigan Wolverines

The Campus Heroes set offers both offensive and defensive players, which really makes us wonder, why wasn't Charles Woodson included?

Charles Woodson played for the Michigan Wolverines and was a shutdown cornerback throughout his career in college. He went on to have a Hall of Fame career, and that's not his only crowning achievement. The mode is called Campus Legends, so how could they forget this college star?

HALL OF FAMER: Charles Woodson was included in Madden 21, but not Campus Heroes in Madden 22

The main reason why Charles Woodson should've been included as one of the Madden 22 Campus Heroes is the fact he was the first defensive player to ever win the Heisman Trophy.

As you can see, Charles Woodson has made his way into Madden before. He was a 95 OVR card in Madden 21, but no such card in Madden 22.

Priest Holmes - RB - Texas Longhorns

Priest Holmes was a stud as a Texas Longhorn, even with him missing some time due to an injury. He tallied 59 carries for 324 yards with 13 TDs, the sixth-highest single-season TD total in school history as a senior in 1996.

Pair that with his incredible game against Nebraska in the 1996 Big 12 Championship game, running for 120 yards and three touchdowns, and we wonder why he was left out.

Emmitt Smith - RB - Florida Gators

Emmitt Smith is the most accomplished Florida Gator in their college football history. Not only that, he's one of the best running backs to ever touch the gridiron. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010 and is considered the best running back in Cowboys history.

He still leads the NFL in total rushing yards (18,355) and was a three-time Super Bowl Champion with the Dallas Cowboys. How could they forget to add Emmitt Smith to the set?

Why Were They Left Out?

Considering Woodson was a Heisman-winner, the first to do it as a defensive player, it's strange he was left out. The others, we believe were definitely oversights, as Emmitt Smith is considered the best in Florida Gator history.

Them being left out could be for a couple of different reasons, one of which is that Michigan isn't available to play as in the Campus Legends mode. So far, only the teams available in the game mode have players added to the Campus Heroes set. That doesn't explain Priest Holmes and Emmitt Smith being left out, though.

The other is that they might've not come to an agreement with these players yet and are planning to work that out in the future. They could even be added into a separate set in the future.

Whatever the case is, we'd like to see these players added immediately to a Madden Ultimate Team set - and if we want the best college legends involved, they need to be next!
