With only a few updates left in League of Legends' summer, there's plenty of anticipation around LoL patch 12.16.
This new update is set to introduce the long-awaited Udyr VGU, make some meaningful changes to various top lane champions, give Zeri her 13th change since launch, add new Steel Valkyries skins, and more.
That being said, here's what's in store for LoL 12.16 as we count down to its release time.

Nearing 12 hours since its release, LoL 12.16 has implemented numerous changes, one of them being the highly anticipated Udyr rework.

LoL 12.16 Release Time & Date
Adhering to the official League of Legends patch schedule, LoL 12.16 hits live servers on Wednesday, August 24, 2022.
As always, players can expect League of Legends servers to go down for maintenance at 6 am EST before going live with the new update at 9 am EST.
This means that once release time comes all of the new skins, buffs, nerfs, and everything in-between will all be live.

LoL 12.16 Patch Notes Highlights
This update is one of the more marquee ones thus far this summer as although it doesn't take a look at a specific group akin to LoL 12.14's enchanter nerfs or LoL 12.15's Energy champion buffs, it welcomes yet another rework in Season 12—the Spirit Walker.
Here's a small rundown on the highlights of the LoL 12.16 patch notes:
- Udyr, the Spirit Walker receives his rework
- 13 Champions receive buffs, nerfs, or changes
- Specific buffs to top lane champions Malphite, Irelia, Jayce
- Diana champion adjustment
- Item Buffs
- Evenshroud receives slight buffs

LoL 12.16 Skins
In a League of Legends alternate reality that had its galaxy scarred by war, reinforcements are in dire need. Criminals, bounty hunters, mercenaries, assassins, and more are filling the gaps and they have become too hard to handle.
Knowing the galaxy is in dire need, the Steel Valkyries have bolstered their ranks with the likes of Janna, Nasus, Camille, and Lucian.
All champions will be rocking one Steel Valkyries skin, each with its own name. Additionally, Janna will have a Prestige Edition of hers. The official pricing for the skins has not yet been unveiled but it is expected that most of these skins will rock a 1350 RP price tag, with Janna's Prestige skin likely being priced at 125 ME.
