It looks like the Los Santos Tuners update is starting to release! It's a bit later than expected, but there's a lot to look forward to in this new GTA Online update. It's going to introduce a new batch of cars, the LS Car Meet, and a whole lot more.
Here's the latest information and everything you need to know about the Los Santos Tuners update.
UPDATE - Los Santos Tuners File Size
It looks like the Los Santos Tuners update is going to be one of the smaller GTA Online updates we've seen. GTAonlineNews has reported that the update is around 3.5GB on Xbox consoles and this is being corroborated by screenshots of the download on a PlayStation console clocking in at 3.6GB.
There are also reports that it is around 4.35GB on PC. It isn't exactly anything to write home about and, for the most part, is surprisingly small.
You Might Need an Update Now
It looks like the GTA Online update might be starting to roll out now. As we've said before, it was expected at either 01:00 PST / 04:00 EST / 09:00 BST like the Weekly Update or 06:00 PST / 09:00 EST / 14:00 BST like Red Dead Online's Blood Money update.
GTAonlineNews believes it's the former, but there hasn't been a full roll-out so it looks like it should arrive at 06:00 PST / 09:00 EST / 14:00 BST, if not before.
If you're eager to jump into the new Los Santos Tuners content as soon as you can, we suggest checking your GTA Online for an update every so often.
New Cars One Highlight Of The Update
There's always going to be things people prefer and things people forget when a GTA Online update drops. You can't please everyone, right? Alongside the LS Car Meet and the new social space features this comes with, the new cars are the big talking point amongst those waiting for the Los Santos Tuners update.
Rockstar Games has shared a new look at some of those cars below and confirmed that the Annis Remus is going to be the first Prize Ride to feature in the LS Car Meet's Prize Ride Challenges.
These challenges are only available to LS Car Meet members; However, there's more than just this to intice you. A LS Car Meet Membership gets you exclusive access to speciality shops inside the social space too. These include a Merch Shop, Tattoo Shop, and Modding Area.
When Does Los Santos Tuners Drop?
Rockstar Games has confirmed that the Los Santos Tuners update is due to release on July 20th. However, the specific time of the update is up for debate.
Rockstar Games could either...
- Release the Los Santos Tuners update at the same time as they release GTA Online's Weekly Update
- 01:00 PST / 04:00 EST / 09:00 BST
- Release the Los Santos Tuners update at the same time as they released last week's Red Dead Online: Blood Money update
- 06:00 PST / 09:00 EST / 14:00 BST
- Release the Los Santos Tuners update at a later time, similar to other title updates
- 10:00 PST / 13:00 EST / 18:00 BST
With any luck, Rockstar Games will release more information about the release time of the Los Santos Tuners update nearer to release.
The LS Car Meet & Reputation Progression
The LS Car Meet is the main selling point of the Los Santos Tuners update and it's worthy of that position. If you shell out GTA$ 50,000, you can bag yourself a membership to the LS Car Meet and open up Prize Ride Challenges, a new Merch Shop, a Tattoo Shop, and the Modding Area inside the LS Car Meet.
If not, you can still check out the Test Track and sample Test Rides. There's also the whole "Car Meet" aspect of it too! Everyone will be showing off their best GTA Online cars and you might find yourself wanting to change up your own!
The LS Car Meet introduces a "new Reputation progression" with "new benefits unlocking after each level". Rockstar Games hasn't gone into any more detail than that, yet.
New Street Races & Street Racers
In addition to this, the Los Santos Tuners update is going to add new races inside and out of the LS Car Meet. The following race types have been mentioned by Rockstar Games:
- " where speed and precision will give you the necessary advantage to best your opponent in a short format race..."
- " where up to four players race to collect 20 checkpoints..."
- Time Trials
- " the chance to put your vehicles through their paces and score your own Personal Record. Up to 30 players will share the track space with you, but contact will be disabled while competing... "
On top of this, a new Street Race Series and Pursuit Series will also be available to LS Car Meet members.
It wouldn't be a car-related GTA Online update without new cars, right? 10 new vehicles are due to be added to GTA Online in the Los Santos Tuners update on July 20th and another 7 are expected to be released over the coming weeks.
