The Fortnite Servers have gone live once more for the Update 18.20, the second major update of Season 8. Two weeks ago we received a sizeable update with plenty of content gearing up for Fortnitemares, and this one seems to be the same.

We've got all the details you need and will keep you updated with every major leak and release from Fortnite Update 18.20.

Unlike last week, we expect the download size across all platforms to be fairly similar. We'll update you if there are any changes to this.

Fortnite Update 18.20 Details

Servers went down at 09:00 BST / 04:00 EST / 01:00 PST as is usual when an update is due. Servers are typically down for around an hour at least. I some cases, depending on the content the update will bring us, servers could be down for up to three hours.

Not too much has leaked from this update ahead of time but once it's been uploaded, the leaks will come thick and fast. We'll be keeping our eyes firmly on Twitter as this is where the information tends to get posted.

Future Updates

We also know that there will be updates for the next two weeks. On Tuesday, 19 October, update 18.21 will be deployed which isn't expected to receive any donwtime. The following week, Tuesday, 26 October is when we'll see update 18.30 come out.

This will be a more traditional update and come with some expected server downtime. Next week also sees the reveal of the mystery battle pass character. This was set out as part of the Fortnitemares roadmap we received as the event kicked off.

We are also expecting more horror-themed skin releases. Rick Grimes was the most recent release and a huge coup for Fortnite. Daryl Dixon and Michonne also returned to the item store making it a bumper season for spooky skins and we're only halfway through the event!
