Football Manager has become a second job for many gamers worldwide, and one of the most exciting football managers is an FM geek!

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has revealed that Football Manager is "where it all started," in his career, and the game we all love, could be why he is breaking records in the Premier League.

For those out there who spend an inhumane amount of hours living the dream in the virtual world of Football Manager, Ange Postecoglou is another real-life boss making those dreams a reality.

The Australian joined Tottenham Hotspur from Celtic over the summer and has not only changed the way Spurs play on the pitch, but the feel around the place has changed too!

Despite being a household name in the UK, Postecoglou was relatively unknown until he joined Celtic in 2021, and has been managing for 27 years!

The question is, where did his love for Football Manager start?

'I love the concept'

Postecoglou revealed in an interview with Goal that he started playing FM when he worked with the Australia national team - where he guided them to their only ever AFC Asian Cup gold medal!

He said: "National team football is really great, but you also get a lot of downtime in between, so once I started, it's fair to say like most people I was all in, and I love the concept.
"It's fairly similar to what I was doing at the time., but also an extension of that because you have a lot of freedom in the game to do things that you aren't allowed to do in real life."

Big Ange isn't the only football superstar who plays in Football Manager, with Ilkay Gundogan, Antoine Griezmann, and Reims manager Will Still all being big proponents of the game.

Like many of us, taking a team to glory is one of the most rewarding feelings, and Ange did just that with Southend United.

The Tottenham boss said: "I took them all the way to a Champions League, which was my greatest moment, but also my biggest heartbreak as they sacked me six months later when I was expecting a statue."
