If you have played, read, or watched content on FC 24, then you'll know just how bumpy its journey has been so far.

Five Title Updates within the first few weeks of the game's launch tells you everything you need to know, with various gameplay issues putting a dampener on what was meant to be an exciting and fresh new chapter.

However, just over two months later, we are finally able to talk about the positives which are now emerging from FC 24 and its community.

From a well-received Holiday Update to another successful week in the UK sales charts, let's take a look at what's caused the change of atmosphere surrounding EA's latest football title.

Holiday Update pleases fans

Following on from the aforementioned Title Updates, another one has just gone live in FC 24, and the early signs are looking good.

The Holiday Update (Title Update 6) sees major improvements made to gameplay, as well as the additions of 94 Player Items to Ultimate Team, and over 100 new and updated star heads.

In terms of gameplay, many aspects which were frustrating players have been addressed, with less pressure now being applied through midfield and the track-back speed of AI teammate wingbacks in 3 and 5 being significantly reduced.

Although opinions will always vary, it appears the majority of feedback on the latest update is positive, as reaction on social media has shown.

"I could hardly play with my preferred 442 position before the update. It's much better now. I am not being pressed to death in the mid. It has some resemblance to earlier fifas now," one Reddit user said.

Another comment read: "Just tried it out and have finally been able to attack through the middle of the pitch for the first time since September."

UK sales charts success

In addition to the Holiday Update pleasing many players, EA received another welcome boost after FC 24 claimed top spot in the physical UK sales charts for the second week running.

It follows FC 24's Black Friday success, which also saw it beat Hogwarts Legacy for the week ending 25 November.

All eyes will be on who finishes top at Christmas, but with FC 24 clearly enjoying some big sales numbers, it's certainly in with a shout.

The game remains half-price on the PlayStation and Xbox store, so if you haven't already, now is a good time to purchase it, especially with the new update seemingly improving the FC 24 experience.

It's been refreshing to focus on the positives rather than the negatives of FC 24, and it's good to see it making progress after a poor start, it's just a shame it's taken over two months for us to get here!
