Shooting has been made easier than ever in NBA 2K26. However, to really be competitive, you've got to find that perfect jumper that you can rely on, especially in moments where a shot could make or break the game. I've spent the past few days testing out dozens of bases, releases, and blends across every build type imaginable, from small guards to bigs.
Why? Because a good jump shot with the right timing and green window can turn a mediocre shooter into a sniper. So, for this guide, I'm breaking down the best bases for different heights and custom jumpshot set-ups that you can use to dominate games.
Let's get into it.
Best Jump Shots for Small Guards (5'9" to 6'5")

Let's start the list with custom jump shots that work best for point guards or smaller shooting guards. These are builds that rely heavily on speed and quick releases, so you can avoid getting your shots swatted away by a taller defender.
Option 1: Iverson/Curry Combo

If you're playing a build that is 6'5" and below, an Allen Iverson base is always a good base to start with, especially if you're experimenting with creating your own jump shots. Allen Iverson's base is one of my personal favorites in the entire game, because its animation allows for versatility not only for set shots, but also for fades and off-balance jumpers.
The key to getting used to this build's timing is to adjust your visual cue to something that you're comfortable shooting with. You can start by setting the visual cue slider at about halfway between push and release and start tweaking until you consistently hit greens. For rhythm shooters, the best adjustment is to reduce the visual cue closer to push.
Option 2: Quick Release Build

This is an even faster jumpshot, so you need to get used to its quick timing. Curry's base, as we all know in real life, is one of the fastest in the game, and this combination keeps that speed while Anfernee Simons' release gives it some stability for a decent green window.
The only catch is that to get a Steph Curry base, you're going to need a 93 mid-range or three-point rating to unlock it, which makes this build suited for 2-way guards, iso, or sniper builds.
Best Jump Shot Builds for Big Guards (6'5" - 6'9")

Bigger guards and wing players need jump shots that work both off the catch and off the dribble while accounting for the character's animation and point of release. Here's a list of the best jump shot builds that you can use for big point guards or shooting guards.
Option 1: Ray Allen Build

6'8" Shooting Guards are still dominating the meta in NBA 2K26, and this jump shot build is among the best of the best. This is my personal go-to that can get you an almost automatic green light every time. It's also one of the more methodical jump shot animations that you can use in the game. If you're a rhythm shooter, definitely try out this jump shot because you're going to have a lot of fun with it, coupled with some dribble animations.
Option 2: Whitehead Foundation Build

If you like to drag on to holding the shoot button for a little bit longer, then this build is for you. This jumpshot has remained consistent throughout both seasons, and as you can guess by using a David West release, it's for builds or characters who love to catch-and-shoot or come off screens as the beneficiary of pick-and-fades or pistol actions.
Best Jump Shots for Forwards and Centers

Forwards and Centers are a bit more complex when it comes to creating jump shots. Big men need jumpers that work with their height's animation from the catch, pull-up, and release, but still fast enough to hit the green window.
Option 1: Fiba Build

Jonathan Isaac is one of the best bases for any build that's 6'10" and above. Combine that with one of the best shooters of all-time in Euro ball in Franz Wagner, and you've got a great combination for a shooting big man.
Option 2: KD Build

Upper Release 2 |

Now, this build right here combines some of the best shooting bigs in modern NBA history. Kevin Durant is always a good base to use on a tall build, but if you can't get used to his animation, you can switch that with Jonathan Isaac or Michael Porter Jr. Just don't forget to adjust your visual cue, and you're good to go.
These jump shots represent the best configurations that I personally use in my builds. Each setup has its own advantages depending on your build's height, shooting, and playstyle. You can use these as-is, tweak them, or use them as your own personal template for your builds.
But remember that the most important thing in creating your own jump shot isn't about mashing all-stars and hall of famers together; instead, it's about blending forms that work well together and ultimately, what you can use consistently.
