MLB The Show 22 is just days away, and Diamond Dynasty is ready to seize the spotlight in the final new features reveal ahead of launch.
With the Feature Premiere looming just ahead of Early Access, Diamond Dynasty looks to be a major piece of MLB The Show 22.
MLB The Show 22: Diamond Dynasty stars in final new features reveal
MLB The Show 22 arrives with Early Access later this week, and that means we've almost learned about all the new features coming to this year's installment.
Online Co-Op, the debut on Nintendo Switch, Franchise Mode, March to October, new commentary teams, and Road to the Show have all gotten a spotlight.
Now things turn to the final Feature Premiere, and it's Diamond Dynasty getting to be the star as the fan-favorite Ultimate Team style mode returns.
We've already started to learn about many of the cards that will lead the charge this year, with a series of major reveals for Faces of the Franchise which brings Team Affinity back in a new way.
Players who get one of the special editions of MLB The Show 22, which you can find out how to pre order here, will also get the exclusive Diamond Legends Choice Pack.
There are still a few big names to be revealed for that pack, and they're sure to have equally stunning card art courtesy of Takashi Okazaki.
Diamond Dynasty needs something special this year
Last year, Diamond Dynasty stepped things up with the integration of a Ballplayer from Road to the Show into the mode and delivered with several different game modes.
Road to the Show and March to October both have a chance to be this year's highlight mode, but Diamond Dynasty will come out swinging.
Conquest will hopefully return in a similar fashion to last year along with some of the same Collection mechanics, but there needs to be more.
Franchise Mode and Road to the Show both were disappointingly devoid of many shiny new features in MLB The Show 22 based on what they've revealed so far, but Diamond Dynasty was saved for the end.
While it's possible they could just go with more of the same in Diamond Dynasty, something that could still work provided quality content updates over time, we're hoping they've got a major game mode reveal on deck.
This could mean new offline or online ways to play, compete, and unlock new cards in Diamond Dynasty, and the Feature Premiere heading into Early Access is the perfect way to showcase that.
