Genshin Impact follows a pretty strict release schedule, allowing you to predict release dates for versions as far as 7.0. Knowing the schedule, especially each 5.X update release, and all characters that are rumoured to show up will make planning your Primogems spending much easier.
Some versions will also feature map expansion, giving you something to look forward to in Genshin Impact. That said, here's what the full schedule of Natlan's batch of versions looks like and what to expect.
Genshin Impact All Natlan Update Release Calendar
Like the previous few regions in Genshin Impact, the Natlan update cycle will run from 5.0 to 5.8. Below are the release dates for each of those versions as well as a rundown of what has been introduced and what is rumoured to arrive.
Version | Release Date |
---|---|
5.0 | August 28, 2024 |
5.1 | October 9, 2024 |
5.2 | November 20, 2024 |
5.3 | January 1, 2025 |
5.4 | February 12, 2025 |
5.5 | March 26, 2025 |
5.6 | May 7, 2025 |
5.7 | June 18, 2025 |
5.8 | July 30, 2025 |
These dates are based on the game's current fixed cycle of a new version every six weeks on Wednesday. Any delay may push the release date for future updates.
Here's what each of these updates has in store.
Version 5.0, 5.1, and 5.2
All the first three batches of the Natlan versions have been released. The 5.0 update kicked it all off, which added the region and its subsequent map expansion arrived in 5.2.
Outside of the new area and quests, the updates featured new release banners for the following characters:
- 5.0: Kinich, Mulani, and Kachina with reruns for Raiden Shogun and Kazuha.
- 5.1: Xilonen with reruns for Chiori, Nahida, and Hu Tao.
- 5.2: Chasca and Ororon with reruns for Lyney, Neuvillette, and Zhongli.
Version 5.3
5.3 is the next major update scheduled for a January 1, 2025, release. While nothing has been made official yet, there have been plenty of leaks. The update is confirmed to wrap up the Natlan's Archon quest.
Likewise, it is confirmed that the update will feature banners for Mavuika, Citlali, and Lan Yan.
It is also time for the annual Lantern Rite, so that'd be another major content for the version. However, 5.3 is leaked to have no map expansion.
Version 5.4
Nothing past 5.3 is confirmed or has major leaks. We can just speculate based on character ID leaks that are somewhat reliable in guessing the release for upcoming characters.
Per the leak, 5.4 could introduce a new character in Mizuki, previously rumoured as Kimitsuki Ayano. Mizuki is alleged to be from Inazuma, so there is a high chance the game will momentarily shift focus to Inazuma for one patch and then later circle back to Natlan.
Both 3.4 and 4.4 weren't about their respective nations either. That means 5.4 will likely not feature any major new region, but this is pure speculation.
Version 5.5
If the character ID leak mentioned above is true, 5.5 will return Genshin Impact to Natlan and see the release of Iansan and another character from the Collective of Plenty tribe, Varesa.
That also means we will get a new map for the Collective of Plenty tribe in update 5.5, as that's the only tribe without a region.
Version 5.6
The character ID leak from HomDGCat also hints that there is a non-Natlan character after Ian San and Versa are scheduled. We don't have the faintest idea who they are or what the focus of the update will be.
5.6 update could be about Mondstadt as something from the region is due big time. The Albedo and Durin thing has been teased for a while, and we haven't got a map expansion for the region since Dragonspine in 1.2.
Version 5.7 and 5.8
5.7 always features an Interlude Chapter for Archon Quest. Similarly, 5.8 is when the old hag sends our Traveler and his few friends to a remote island or region for a limited-time vacation, like Summer Fantasia in 2.8, Secret Summer Paradise in 3.8, and Summertide Scales and Tales in 4.8.
If nothing else, those things are what you can least expect from the version. The character ID leak has Ifa as a new release. Ifa has been mentioned in-game already and is said to be a renowned Saurian veterinarian.
Multiple Natlan characters have voice lines that mention Ifa, so it wouldn't be surprising if they are playable either late into 5.X or even earlier. While most of the characters we mentioned, and some new regions, will likely arrive in Genshin Impact, speculated release patterns can change.
Unfortunately, there are no signs of a Capitano release in any of the 5. X versions.
That's everything about the schedule for Genshin Impact. It'll help you plan for the future, and if you've just tuned in to the game, check out some mistakes to avoid, as well as our detailed beginner's guide.
