Breaking News: Shayna Baszler signs with WWE

As confirmed by fellow MMA Four Horsewoman Jessamyn Duke on her twitch channel, Shayna Baszler has signed a contract with the WWE.

Speculation has been rife that this could be coming as WWE teased a Four Horsewomen of MMA vs Four Horsewomen of WWE clash during the Mae Young Classic. With Survivor Series only a few months out, it's the ideal platform for such a spectacle.

All the signs point to it being official

While the news from Jessamyn Duke was crucial, several other bits of information have come in since that initial report that seems to confirm what was already expected. Triple H "welcomed" Shayna to WWE through his comments on ESPN. On top of that, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful all but confirmed it when he said on ‘The List and Ya Boy’ that Shayna Baszler is moving to Florida.

There was even further potential confirmation when a post of Izzy, the Bayley mega-fan who is often spotted at Full Sail dressed like Bayley, posted a photo on Twitter that showed Shayna at Full Sail for the NXT tapings.

While WWE hasn't yet confirmed the news via WWE.com or via social media, it seems quite clear at this point that Baszler isn't leaving WWE anytime soon.

Where will Baszler go first

With this news, it will be interesting to see where the WWE goes with the "Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler. While she's still relatively inexperienced, the potential Four Horsewomen angle suggests she could head right for the main roster. Even without that, Baszler's name recognition would help bring some fresh eyes to either Raw or SmackDown Live.

With Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful also reporting that Ronda Rousey is gaining wrestling training at Brian Kendrick's wrestling school, it definitely looks like the expected Four Horsewomen storyline is currently in the works. With that, it's likely that Shayna would be fast-tracked to the main roster.

Her impending move to Florida could suggest a stint in NXT, but several main roster stars still live in Florida due to the proximity to the WWE Performance Center. Regardless of which direction WWE decides to go, it's clear that Shayna's pedigree will give her the chance to achieve great success in this next phase of her athletic career.
