With the 2022 FIFA World Cup group stages heading into their final rounds of fixtures this week, fans of all nationalities are looking ahead to the knockout stages and beyond.

Brazil and France are the major favourites to taste victory in late December after convincing starts to their group-stage campaign, while England raised eyebrows with their 6-2 opening game victory over Iran.

When is the World Cup 2022 final?

The 2022 World Cup final will take place on Sunday, November 18th at the Lusail Iconic Stadium, which was purpose-built to host the final of Qatar's World Cup.

A plethora of World Cup action remains before the final takes place in late December though with the round of 16 scheduled to get underway on December 3rd at 3 p.m. and the quarter-finals commencing on November 9th.

The two semi-finals will then take place on December 13th and December 14th with the penultimate game of the tournament, the third-place play-off, taking place at 3 p.m.

Where to Watch the World Cup 2022 final

As is traditional in the UK, both ITV and the BBC will broadcast the 2022 World Cup final on free-to-air TV, allowing as many fans as possible to watch football's biggest spectacle.

The World Cup final will also be available to stream live through the BBC iPlayer and ITVX streaming platforms. STV will also be broadcasting the World Cup final in the UK.
