PES 2021: Konami announce official partnership with the Argentine Football Association

Christmas is the time of giving, and PES have picked themselves up a pretty big present!

Konami has today announced an official partnership with La Asociation del Futbol Argentino.

Here is what it will mean for PES 2021 and beyond.

Partnership

Pro Evo shared the news earlier today via their official Twitter and Instagram account, announcing the news via a short statement.

"!Bienvenidos! We are delighted to share the news of our official partnership with La Asociacion del Futbol Argentino.

They will play a huge role in-game and in our eFootball evolution moving forward! #PES2021"

Exciting times ahead for the Konami football title, who add the Argentinan Football Association to their growing list of partners, having announced their partnership with the Portuguese National Team last month.

What does this mean?

The announcement was short and sweet, with Konami holding back on any further information other than the news of the deal itself.

We know that Argentina will play a key role in the title moving forward, but how about the short term?

Legends

Another key partnership that has been announced recently was PES' link up with Serie A side SS Lazio.

Players who play the Legend Gameplay within PES 2021 were granted access to two Lazio Icons - Paul Gascgoine and Jose Salas - for free.

Could we see something similar with Argentina? Legend Hernan Crespo wouldn't be bad!

Messi X PES

Lionel Messi has been the poster boy for PES for five years now, and that link just got even stronger.

SECURED! Both Argentina and Barcelona are now linked with PES.

And, with the Barcelona man heavily linked with a move away from the Camp Nou in the summer, this keeps the links between Messi and the Konami title strong, regardless of where he's playing his club football.

It looks like we'll be seeing plenty of Messi in Pro Evo for years to come!
