WWE Tag Team Power Rankings: Week of October 18, 2017

See which tag teams have made the biggest impact across WWE this week!

Rather than separating weekly power rankings by brand, RealSport is bringing Raw, SmackDown Live, and 205 Live together to see which stars are making the biggest impact regardless of brand! We’ve narrowed it down to the top five, so it’ll take a big impact to break into the list each week. Here are this week’s rankings for the top five tag teams of WWE!

  1. 5 THE NEW DAY (=)

After multiple intense matches with The Usos, a fun feud with Rusev and Aiden English was just what the doctor ordered for The New Day. This week's backstage segment made me smile, and that's really what wrestling is all about. Although the build-up to a potential match will be lighthearted, all the participants can go in the ring and the match that follows has potential to be good.

  2. 4 CHAD GABLE AND SHELTON BENJAMIN (-1)

Chad Gable really shines when he is given a chance to show his goofy side in backstage segments. A plucky competitor is only good for so long before it goes stale. A bit of humour is the key to the longevity of Gable being over. The man can go like few others in the ring and with his partner being one of the few, a match with The Usos should be nothing less than terrific. Sign me up! Seeing Shelton Benjamin in a big time matchup for the first time since his return to WWE should be enough to excite any long time wrestling fan.

  3. 3 THE BAR (+1)

There is nothing I can say about The Bar that I haven't already said a million times, so this week I'm going to speak about an underrated side of their performances. I think both men, but more specifically Sheamus, are criminally underrated on the microphone. Sheamus never seems to be rattled by crowds having a go at him for his haircut, instead, he seems to revel in the backlash. The only thing the two are missing is their own dynamic way of cutting a promo so it doesn't feel too cookie cutter.

  4. 2 THE USOS (-1)

I keep talking up The Usos week after week because the pair keeps performing at the highest level possible. It is interesting to see the new nuance added to their characters. It seemed that they are now a tad more respectful to their opponents and I'm not sure if I like it, to be honest. They shouldn't be getting punked out of a handshake by Gable and Benjamin, they should be punching them in the face rather than shaking hands. Unless the plan is to turn The Usos at some point, they should keep being the vicious gangsters that have taken The New Day to hell and back.

  5. 1 THE SHIELD (+1)

WWE really made the right choice in pulling the trigger on a Shield reunion. Every single one of the trio seems to get better when in their Shield attire. They seem to enjoy themselves so much more and that tends to translate into a better showing. Just look at Ambrose in his old black tactical gear, and you'll realize he almost looks like a different person. He carries himself with a different aura; he feels like a badass and is a joy to watch. I hope that this reunited run isn't stopped too early, because I'm loving it!
