FanDuel & DraftKings NBA Daily Picks: Fantasy lineup & advice 10/22/17

PG - Dennis Schroder, Atlanta Hawks @ Brooklyn Nets

Dennis Schroder has had a strong start to the season. The German point guard is settling to life well as the primary offensive option for the Hawks, averaging 26.5 points on 51 percent shooting with six assists. He’s had the benefit of facing two middling defenders in Dennis Smith Jr. and Kemba Walker in his first two games, and D’Angelo Russell will make it three.

Look for Schroder to get a lot of opportunities to score going against a fast-paced Nets team that has already produced two very high-scoring contests this season.

SG - Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Los Angeles Lakers vs. New Orleans Pelicans

Decent shooting guard options are incredibly scarce tonight, so it might be worth a shot to gamble on Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. The Lakers guard is set to make his season debut after a two-game suspension, so there is some risk of rust.

But KCP will have an advantageous matchup right off the bat against a Pelicans team that has not been the best at corralling opposing shooting guards in the early going this season. He will get some looks as one of the Lakers’ more reliable three-point shooters, and could come away with a nice night statistically on his season debut.

SF - DeMarre Carroll, Brooklyn Nets vs. Atlanta Hawks

DeMarre Carroll is having a sneakily good start to the season. The veteran forward was essentially given away by the Toronto Raptors to the Brooklyn Nets for cap relief, but he’s currently thriving in a starting role for the Nets. Over two games, he’s averaging 13.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and two three-pointers in 28 minutes, which is pretty decent value given his meager price.

Carroll’s ceiling isn’t much higher than this, but given the lack of reliability among the star small forwards in the Timberwolves-Thunder game that figures to be a defensive war, Carroll could be an interesting option to turn to on the cheap.

PF - Anthony Davis, New Orleans Pelicans @ Los Angeles Lakers

Anthony Davis did it again with another sparkling performance against defending champions the Golden State Warriors. AD put up his second-straight 30-point, 15-rebound game in as many games this season, and added five rebounds, two steals, a block, and three threes. He also shot 15-of-21 from the field, which is just insane.

Anyone betting against The Brow from making it three straight 30-15 games against the defense-less Lakers better have their head examined. Davis is going to get his numbers, and figures to be one of, if not the best fantasy performer of the night with that incredibly advantageous matchup.

C - DeMarcus Cousins, New Orleans Pelicans @ Los Angeles Lakers

Similarly, his frontcourt partner in crime DeMarcus Cousins also has to be a starter against this Lakers defense. Boogie also torched the Warriors for 35-14-5 with four steals and three threes, continuing his equally impressive start to the year.

Boogie is far and away the best fantasy center on the market in this limited three-game slate with Karl-Anthony Towns not quite hitting last season’s heights with Jimmy Butler now in town. Save up on the other positions on your lineup in order to spend big on The Brow and Boogie tonight.
