Brazil has long been a hotbed of football talent. Who are the next wonderkids from Brazil in FM19?


From Pele to Ronaldinho and Neymar, Brazil has always generated quality football players at every position. There have been all-time greats across the board from Brazil and the national football team has reaped the rewards, lifting the World Cup a record five times. Brazilians have broken the transfer record five times so far, and hold the current record with Neymar’s £198 million record to Paris Saint-Germain, but who are the next generation?

How to choose the best Brazilian wonderkids in Football Manager 2019

This article will look at the best Brazilian wonderkids in FM19. These players are all teenagers at the start of a new career and listed as Brazilian. They won’t necessarily be cheap to buy, but they all have a potential ability of at least 130, making them impactful players for almost any team in the world.

Rodrygo (CA 130 – PA Range 160-190)

Age: 17

Position: AM (L), ST

Club: SAN

Best Attributes: Natural Fitness (16), Dribbling (15), Flair (15)

Value: £1.9 million

Wage: £4,700 a week

Rodrygo came up through the Santos youth system and made his debut for them in November 2017. He has gone on to play over 30 games for them, and in July 2019 will make a £40.5 million move to Real Madrid.

In FM 19 Rodrygo is already gifted on the ball (15 dribbling, 15 first touch). He has excellent creative talents (15 flair, 15 technique, 14 passing) and can score too (14 finishing). He is a good athlete (16 natural fitness, 16 agility, 15 acceleration, 14 pace) and has good mental attributes that you wouldn’t expect from someone so young (14 off the ball, 14 determination, 14 concentration).

Vinicius Junior (CA 133 – PA Range 160-190)

Age: 17

Position: AM (L), ST

Club: Real Madrid

Best Attributes: Determination (18), Acceleration (16), Dribbling (16)

Value: £4.5 million

Wage: £92,000 a week

Vinicius Junior started his career with Flamengo, joining them at the age of 5 and making his debut for them in May 2017. He played nearly 40 games for them before making a €46 million move to Real Madrid on his 18th birthday in June 2018.

In FM 19 Vinicius Junior is on the verge of being a star. He is terrific on the ball (16 dribbling, 12 first touch) and has some terrific mental attributes (18 determination, 16 flair, 14 anticipation). He has good pace to torment defenders (16 acceleration, 15 pace, 15 natural fitness) and he can move the ball in possession too (16 technique, 12 passing). He is already on a big contract with Real Madrid though, so signing him will be tough.

Paulinho (CA 132 – PA Range 150-180)

Age: 17

Position: AM (RL), M (RL), ST

Club: Bayer O4

Best Attributes: Pace (16), Natural Fitness (16), Flair (15)

Value: £8.75 million

Wage: £26,000 a week

Paulinho joined Vasco da Gama in 2010 when he was 10 years old and made his debut for them in July 2017. He only played a handful of games for them before making a €20 million move to German side Bayer Leverkusen in April 2018.

In FM 19 Paulinho is a solid athlete (16 pace, 16 natural fitness, 15 balance) with good skill on the ball (14 technique, 13 dribbling, 12 passing). He can find the back of the net (14 long shots, 12 finishing) and has strong mental attributes too (15 off the ball, 15 bravery, 15 flair).

Matheus Fernandes (CA 131 – PA 150)

Age: 19

Position: DM, M (C)

Club: BOT

Best Attributes: Teamwork (15), Stamina (15), Agility (15)

Value: £1.6 million

Wage: £5,250 a week

Matheus Fernandes has been with Botafogo his whole career. He made his debut with them in January 2017 and has gone on to play over 50 games with the club as well as progressing to Brazil’s Under-20 side.

In FM 19 Fernandes is already a well-developed defender (14 tackling, 14 marking, 14 positioning) but he is also very good on the ball coming forward (14 dribbling, 14 passing, 13 technique) and can score too (13 long shots, 12 finishing). He has good physical traits (15 agility, 15 stamina, 14 acceleration) and solid mental attributes as well (14 bravery, 14 work rate, 14 determination).

Leo Santos (CA 125 – PA 150)

Position: D (C)

Leo Santos has been with Corinthians since he was 10 years old. He made his debut with them in November 2016 and has progressed to the Brazil Under-20 team.

In FM 19 Leo Santos is already a good defender (14 marking, 14 positioning, 13 tackling) and has plenty of speed to deal with fast forwards (14 acceleration, 14 pace). He can move possession (13 passing, 13 technique) and has a good head on his shoulders too (13 teamwork, 13 concentration, 13 composure).

Alan (CA 88 – PA Range 140-170)

Alan has been with Palmeiras for his whole career and progressed through the Brazilian youth levels to the Under-20 side. He has been linked with a £44 million move to Real Madrid already.

In Football Manager 2019 Alan is good on the ball (13 dribbling, 13 first touch) and can create chances too (14 flair, 13 passing, 12 crossing, 12 technique). He has solid speed (13 pace, 13 acceleration) but is lacking impressive mental attributes.

Brenner (CA 112 – PA Range 140-170)

Brenner has been with Sao Paulo since he was 10 and made his senior debut with the team in 2017. He has only played a handful of games for them so far and has reached Brazil’s Under-20 team.

Victor Bobsin has been with Gremio for his whole career, but is yet to debut for their senior team. He has made his way up to the Brazil Under-20 side after playing 18 games with the Under-17 team.

In FM 19 Bobsin has well-developed mental attributes (15 determination, 13 teamwork, 13 work rate) that help his overall game. He is a solid defender (12 marking, 12 tackling, 11 positioning) and can get involved in possession too (12 passing, 12 first touch, 12 technique).

Reinier (CA 100 – PA 140-170)

Reinier is just 16 and is currently with Flamengo’s Under-20 side, however he has already attracted attention from European clubs, with Liverpool thought to be keen on him. He has also been capped by Brazil at Under-17 level.

In FM 19 Reinier is very raw, as you’d expect from a 16 year old, but he does have 19 determination which will help his development drastically. Right now he is already good in possession (14 passing, 14 technique, 14 vision, 13 first touch) and has decent speed for a central player (14 acceleration, 13 pace). He has a ton of potential for any team to work with.

Lincoln (CA 110 – PA Range 140-170)

Age: 17

Position: ST

Club: FLA

Best Attributes: Determination (18), Flair (15), Agility (15)

Value: £125,000

Wage: £4,300 a week

Lincoln has been with Flamengo for his whole career, debuting with them in November 2017 at the age of 16. He has also racked up the caps for Brazil’s Under-17 side, making 18 appearances and scoring nine goals.

In FM 19 Lincoln is another FLA wonderkid with terrific determination (18). He has decent athleticism (15 agility, 14 natural fitness, 14 stamina, 13 pace) and some very good mental attributes (15 flair, 13 composure, 13 teamwork) to go along with strong talent on the ball (12 dribbling, 12 passing) and in front of goal (12 finishing, 12 heading, 12 penalty taking).
