Will NBA 2K23 return to Cancha Del Mar?

Although nothing has officially been revealed, players are asking the question "Will NBA 2K23 return to Cancha Del Mar?"

This was a popular theme last year but was full of bugs that persisted through the entirety of NBA 2K22.

Will it return this year or is there a new format on the horizon?

Will NBA 2K23 return to Cancha Del Mar

When it was revealed that current gen players wouldn't have access to The City last year, we learned it would be replaced by the Cancha Del Mar.

Now, with NBA 2K23 about to release, we're wondering if the cruise ship will make it back to the PS4 and Xbox One platforms.

Although it was an esthetically pleasing theme, the Cancha Del Mar had quite a few issues in terms of bugs. Frankly, these bugs weren't fixed through the course of the game.

We think it's more likely that NBA 2K23 will head back to a more simple format such as The Park. This way it will require less support through the course of the year.

Bugs experienced on the Cancha Del Mar

Last year, NBA 2K23 current gen players were frustrated with how many bugs they experienced on the Cancha Del Mar. This is likely why it won't return.

One of the most notable bugs was located at the elevator which wouldn't allow players to access the platform and join the servers.

With how many problems the mode experienced, it might be easier for NBA 2K23 to create something similar to The City.

Unfortunately, there hasn't been anything revealed as far as Cancha Del Mar goes this year. We expect to hear something on this very soon.

NBA 2K23 Release Date

We're not far from the official release date of NBA 2K23 which will launch on September 9, 2022, just a few weeks away.

Before that point we'll likely have several more reveals. Yesterday, we learned about The W, the next gen specific game mode themed around the WNBA.

Unfortunately, current gen players won't be able to access this game mode. However, we should get a PS4 and Xbox One breakdown soon.
