When building your NBA 2K22 MyTEAM, what should be your first major choice is who will be your starting point guard and who will back him up.
This is tough for some to decide, but there are a few factors that we take into account when making our selections. Overall, you need the best PG for your playstyle, to run your MyTEAM.
Let's take a look at the best Point Guards in NBA 2K22 MyTEAM and how much they cost.
NBA 2K22 MyTEAM Best Point Guards
It might seem like a massive undertaking to evaluate who the best point guards are in MyTEAM. However, once you do, you'll be thankful that you did.
Using the best point guard for your playstyle will be vital to winning Unlimited, Triple Threat, and Domination games.
We're going to split these best options up by grade, from Pink Diamond to Amethyst, the lowest grade you should have in your NBA 2K22 MyTEAM lineup.
Best Pink Diamond Point Guards
Pink Diamond's are the highest-grade (right now) card in NBA 2K22 MyTEAM. These players are usually rated at 95 OVR and give you the greatest option of having a successful lineup.
However, not every Pink Diamond is worth the MT spent on it. You can find these cards in the Auctions or most recently, in the Flash Packs or Primetime Packs.
Here are the PG's we believe you should target if you're willing to buy Pink Diamonds:
- Stephen Curry - Pink Diamond (95 OVR) - PG/SG
- John Wall - Glitch Pink Diamond (95 OVR) - PG/SG
- Gilbert Arenas - Pink Diamond (95 OVR) - PG/SG
Each of these cards will cost you around 100 MT and up, but what you get in return is worth it. Steph Curry has incredible shooting and Limitless Range, nearly unguardable outside.
The Glitch Shooting John Wall is incredible at finishing drives and the shooting glitch allows him to be a threat outside as well.
The Pink Diamond Gilbert Arenas is a good mix of both of the above-mentioned cards, all the while being a great NBA 2K22 defender on the perimeter and in the post.
Best Diamond Point Guards
You don't have to spend a ton of MT or VC to get yourself a quality point guard on your NBA 2K22 MyTEAM. In fact, you can focus on just adding a few Diamond Point Guards to stay competitive.
The overall rating for these players is just slightly under players that are Pink Diamonds, so you aren't losing too much quality. More importantly, you'll save a ton of MT in the process.
Check out our Diamond Point Guard options for your NBA 2K22 MyTEAM:
- Trae Young - Diamond (94 OVR) - PG/SG
- Allen Iverson - Diamond (93 OVR) - PG/SG
- Stephen Curry - Diamond (92 OVR) - PG/SG
Yes, Curry is going to make our best point guard list twice and it's because he definitely deserves it. He has immaculate shooting and is a strong passer. The great news, each of these players is under 50K MT.
Allen Iverson gives you some depth as a dribbler and passer, he can drive the lane as well, but you better call the Quick Isolation play so he doesn't get bullied.
Same with Trae Young, however, Young is a much better shooter than Allen Iverson is. You can also level up the Limitless Range Badge in NBA 2K22 with Young to get more output from him.
Best Amethyst Point Guards
Amethyst is a grade that is often overlooked by other NBA 2K22 MyTEAM players, however, there is a ton of quality in the grade as well.
You could essentially build an entire team of Amethyst players and compete with some of the best squads in NBA 2K22. You can get incredible players at this grade for under 10K MT.
Here are a couple of players we feel you should target when going for Amethyst Point Guards:
- Kyrie Irving - Amethyst (91 OVR) - PG/SG
- Chris Paul - Amethyst (91 OVR) - PG/SG
- Damian Lillard - Amethyst (90 OVR) - PG/SG
Each of these players is a viable option to lead your NBA 2K22 MyTEAM. Kyrie Irving is the clear first choice due to his shooting, passing, and dribbling ability.
Chris Paul is a good shooter, a great dribbler, and an incredible passer, he'll likely get bullied inside so keep that in mind.
Out of all the Amethyst players we listed above, our favorite is the 90 OVR Damian Lillard. You'll sacrifice some passing ability and a little shooting, but he makes up for it in size. He'll drive the lane well and can still knock some shots down for your NBA 2K22 MyTEAM.
