Winter is here and baseball has entered hibernation mode, which means MLB The Show 24 is on the way.

Having been a Sony exclusive for years, MLB The Show has found a home on Xbox as well, making it one of the best sports titles on either platform year in and year out.

The cover athlete, release date, editions, platforms and some information about the Negro Leagues mode has already been revealed. We expect some exciting features to be announced soon in the upcoming feature reveals.

Latest: Storylines Derek Jeter mode announced

The Storylines Derek Jeter mode has just been announced, and it's the first brand-new mode revealed for MLB The Show 24. This mode allows players to step into the shoes of baseball legend Derek Jeter, and relive the biggest moment of his historic career.

After completing each moment players will earn exclusive rewards, similar to what happens in the Negro Leagues Season 2 mode.

MLB The Show 24 release date

MLB The Show games have been released earlier and earlier over the last few years. 21 was released on 20 April, and 23 came out on 28 March.

MLB The Show 24 will continue that tradition, with the game releasing on 19 March, a little bit over a week before the MLB season Opening Day, which is set for 28 March.

This will get the game to players before Opening Day and tie into the hype of the new season.

But on what platforms will MLB The Show 24 be available? Let's find out.

Platforms

MLB The Show 24 will be released for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch.

This information was made official on the multiple MLB The Show social media platforms, on the same day the cover star was announced and the pre-orders started.

Unfortunately, to the disappointment of many players, this isn't the year where the game comes to PC. The franchise never had a PC release and it doesn't seem there are any plans for one anytime soon.

MLB The Show 24 editions

There are a total of four MLB The Show 24 editions, Standart, MVP, Digital Deluxe and Negro Leagues, with each one having a unique cover, price and rewards.

So let's take a look at all the MLB The Show 24 editions and see what each one of them has to offer

Standard Edition

The Standard Edition is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch. This edition costs $59.99 for the last-gen consoles, and $69.99 for the current-gen ones.

The pre-order bonus for this edition is different for last-gen consoles or current-gen ones, with the current-gen pre-order offering much better rewards.

The pre-order bonuses for each platform are the following:

MVP Edition

The MLB The Show 24 MVP edition costs $84.99 and is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch.

It's quite more expensive than the Standart Edition, however, it offers many more rewards while including all the rewards of the Standart Edition.

This edition might have an incredibly high price, but it makes up for it by including a plethora of great rewards. It's the perfect edition for someone who wants to be competitive on Diamond Dynasty from day one, as it gives them a significant edge over their opponents.

The face of MLB The Show 24 is none other than the home run derby king himself, Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

The Toronto Blue Jays superstar had a decent 2023 season and was rewarded with the MLB The Show 24 cover.

Vladimir Guerrero Ramos is the face of MLB The Show 24!

Most players weren't expecting to see Vladimir Guerrero Jr gracing the cover of MLB The Show 24.

The community is split in the middle about this cover star decision, with some agreeing with it, while many think players such as Ronald Acuña Jr or Mookie Betts are more deserving of being on the cover.

Negro Leagues Season 2

The popular Negro Leagues game mode is coming back in MLB The Show 24 and it introduces some new faces.

Season 2 of the Negro Leagues will once again allow players to relive history, as they step into the shoes of some of the biggest legends of the league such as Hank Aaron, Josh Gibson, Buck Leonard and Toni Stone.

Players will be able to relive the story of these heroes of the game, as well as unlock plenty of rewards such as cards, stadiums, bats and jerseys, among others.

MLB The Show 24 content schedule

The highly anticipated MLB The Show 24 content schedule has already been announced. This year we will have a total of four feature premiers which will introduce all the new features that are coming to the game.

The Negro Leagues Season 2 feature premier takes place on 15 February, as mentioned above, while the traditional MLB The Show ratings reveal show will take place on 7 March.

This year's dev tournament will happen on 14 March, while the highly important MLB The Show 24 launch day takes place on 19 March, as mentioned previously in the article.
