MLB: 5 trades that should go down this offseason


It's the most wonderful time of the offseason, when front office executives sit in anticipation waiting for free agents to sign somewhere so they have an idea how to address their needs. And we all know the best way teams address their needs when they don't get the free agent they've pursued all offseason.

So far there have only been minor trades, with the Los Angeles Angels acquiring veteran closer Jim Johnson from the Atlanta Braves and the Seattle Mariners trading for Ryon Healy of the Oakland A's two weeks ago. With the Winter Meetings coming up, expect to see trades happen regardless of whether Giancarlo Stanton agrees to waive his no-trade clause. Aside from that, here are five trades that should go down this offseason, whether they happen next week or right before Spring Training begins.
