Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer beta has officially had a release date. There are also release dates for early access, the crossplay beta and more.
The final day of the CDL Championship Weekend saw a surprise announcement about Modern Warfare 2. Players will soon have access to the betas for the game. However, the beta is available for Playstation owners before any other console. Playstation users will experience the beta before Xbox and PC users.
With multiple release dates announced, let's look at all the information given to us now.

Playstation exclusive beta
The Playstation exclusive weekend will happen from Friday, September 16 to Tuesday, September 20. The event starts on...
- 10 am PT
- 6 pm BST
- 9 am GMT
As the exclusive suggests, this weekend will only be available for Playstation 4 and Playstation 5 owners. The good news about this beta is that a Playstation Plus subscription is not needed!
The early access will run from the 16 to 17 September and the open beta is from the 18 to 20 of September.
Cross-play beta
The second part of this beta will be available for every console and PC too. This runs from Thursday, September 22 to Monday, September 26. The cross-play element of this means that friends of different consoles can all meet up and enjoy this free beta.

Early access period dates
There are discussions happening around the early access period of the game too. This early access is supposed to be released once all the open betas have finished. However, there are no official reports of this being true.
