MLB Tap Sports Baseball 2023 - Cover athlete REVEALED & first trailer drops

With the upcoming baseball season right around the corner, EA has announced that fans can now pre-register for MLB Tap Sports Baseball 2023.

The hotly anticipated mobile game is set for release this March and will be made available for FREE on Apple and Android devices.

Alongside the announcement of pre-registration going live, EA has revealed the official cover athlete for MLB Tap Sports Baseball 2023.

We've also got our first look at the new game, with the very first gameplay trailer having been released too.

Release date

EA has not yet revealed the specific release date for MLB Tap Sports Baseball 2023 but we do know that the game is coming in March 2023.

As mentioned above, the game will be made available as a free download worldwide.

You will be able to download MLB Tap Sports Baseball 2023 via the App Store for iPhone/iPad and Google Play for Android devices and Amazon.

New features including updated player displays, 3D animated crowds and ballparks will be coming to the game this year.

Cover athlete REVEALED

It's official - Julio Rodriguez will be the cover athlete for MLB Tap Sports Baseball 2023!

The Seattle Mariners centre fielder and reigning American League Rookie of the Year was the standout candidate for this year's cover and is fully deserving of the honours.

“Being named cover athlete and joining the list of amazing players who have been EA SPORTS cover athletes is truly an honour” said Rodriguez.

Rodriguez took Major League Baseball by storm last season with a .284 batting average, 28 home runs and 75 RBI in 511 at bats in his rookie year.

In 2022, the 22-year-old All-Star became only the fourth rookie outfielder ever to win the Silver Slugger award and the fastest player in MLB history to hit 25 home runs and 25 stolen bases in a single-season.

The Dominican Republic native also placed second in the 2022 T-Mobile Home Run Derby, with an incredible 81 home runs across three rounds, and was one of only six Mariners ever to be elected to the All-Star game as a rookie.

The teaser gives us our first look at the new title's gameplay and features the cover athlete himself, Julio Rodriguez, of course.
