Is Babylon's Fall coming to Xbox?

Sometimes the most frustrating thing about the games industry is console exclusive games like Babylon's Fall. Whether they're fully exclusive or just timed exclusives, it can be incredibly annoying to see a game you have an interest in becoming unavailable for you to play.

With Babylon's Fall, the mystique around its PlayStation console exclusivity is even more frustrating because of how little we know about the wider picture. Will the game eventually come to Xbox? Let's take a look at what we know about the deal so far...

Will Bayblon's Fall come to Xbox?

The primary reason for frustration with Babylon's Fall on Xbox is that there's no definitive statement on its exclusivity deal. Square Enix are a company who have worked closely with Sony and PlayStation in the past but have recently been a multi-platform publisher. In their FAQ for the game, nothing is mentioned regarding full or timed exclusivity.

This changed when the next Final Fantasy game was revealed to be a PS5 exclusive with no Xbox version being made. So, is Babylon's Fall another game that will only be on Sony consoles? Truth is, we don't know.

The most likely scenario is that little is being said to give Square Enix the ability to leverage an Xbox launch as a big deal. This could help them negotiate with Microsoft and perhaps end up with a favourable deal. A downside to this is that if the game doesn't perform well, there will be little interest in Microsoft chasing the title to be on its console.

We imagine there is a future where Babylon's Fall is playable on the Xbox consoles and could even be a fantastic addition to Xbox Game Pass. For now, Square Enix are keeping tight-lipped about the who situation. Only time will tell whether or not Babylon's Fall eventually makes its Xbox console debut.
