Madden 22 Roster Update Predictions: Week 4 Player Ratings

Madden 22 has delivered consistent roster updates each week following the latest NFL action, and that will be no different this time.

With several games seeing some huge performances, these Madden 22 roster update predictions will pinpoint the players poised to see a boost or take a hit in their player ratings.

Madden 22 Roster Update Predictions after Week 4

Week 4 of NFL action marked a clear step forward from the potential adjustment period of the opening few games as teams try to find an identity for their season.

That led to some great performances by some players, but others struggled to make their mark and could see their Madden 22 ratings plummet as a result.

With the latest games in mind, here are our predictions for players on the rise and ready to fall as their ratings are adjusted in the Madden 22 Week 4 Roster Update.

The Winners

Exactly how many players will see an increase can vary week to week, but there are definitely some names we expect to get the nod this time.

After each put in their own strong performances, here are four players we expect to get a Madden 22 ratings increase in the Week 4 Roster Update.

Sam Darnold (QB) - Currently 73 OVR - Carolina Panthers

While they came up just short of the team victory, there was a mixed bag from Sam Darnolds, but potentially enough good that it will outweigh the bad.

MORE GOOD THAN BAD: Darnold had some flaws but still did well this week

Despite two interceptions, Darnold passed for over 300 yards with two passing touchdowns along with his two rushing touchdowns and is likely the only reasons the Panthers kept hope of winning alive against the Cowboys.

Cordarrelle Patterson (HB) - Currently 77 OVR - Atlanta Falcons

He might've been the team's designated running back, but it's the receiving game where Patterson became a nightmare for the Washington Football Team.

He racked up 82 receiving yards and 34 rushing yards on the day, but along the way also snagged three receiving touchdowns that almost single-handedly saved the now 1-3 Falcons from a 34-30 defeat by Washington.

Trevon Diggs (CB) - Currently 75 OVR - Dallas Cowboys

There's already chatter that Trevon Diggs could be on his way to being Defensive Player of the Year, and that would sound hyperbolic if it wasn't for Diggs continued excellence.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Diggs earned POTW in the TOTW 4 lineup

Diggs nabbed both interceptions on Darnold this week, one which was a truly spectacular catch, and Diggs also had two passes defended and four solo tackles to cap off this week's defensive performance with the Dallas Cowboys.

Hunter Renfrow (WR) - Currently 80 OVR - Las Vegas Raiders

While we saw a solid receiving performance from Hunter Renfrow that included six receptions for 45 yards and one touchdown, he had another highlight.

After an attempted fake punt turned to a passing play, it was Hunter Renfrow then playing special teams who delivered a thunderous tackle to force an incompletion, so expect this wideout's Hit Power to take a boost this week.

The Losers

Of course, the success of some in the NFL will often come at the expensve of others, and there were some definite duds in Week 4.

With their latest performances in mind, we've picked out a handful of players that could see their player ratings in Madden 22 on the downswing with the Week 4 Roster Update.

The Houston Texans Defense

We might be cheating a little here, but it's hard to pinpoint the biggest problem in the Houston Texans defense after their abysmal week against the Bills. One or more players on this defense is likely to see their ratings slide this week.

HELP NEEDED: The Texans' defense needs to get it together

Despite a lone interception and lone sack, the Texans defense was relatively absent and allowed over 450 yards of offense that fueled the Bills' absurd 38:15 time of possession en route to their 40-0 trouncing of the Texans.

Matthew Stafford (QB) - Currently 84 OVR - Los Angeles Rams

Despite relatively decent numbers at a glance, Stafford struggled this week as the Rams seemed to realize the key to containing him was simply to cover Cooper Kupp.

Without being able to lean on his prime target, Stafford forced his way into an interception and failed a few key third down conversions that could've prevented the Cardinals from pulling away with the lead.

Trey Lance (QB) - Currently 74 OVR - San Francisco 49ers

While the 49ers would've preferred to wait before having to rely on Trey Lance, fate had other plans and an untimely injury forced him into the line of fire.

Lance barely managed to complete half of his passes, and one 76-yard bomb to Deebo Samuel makes his 157-yard performance in the second half look better than it actually was.
