Everything Learned from Week 2 of the LEC Summer Split

The third week of the Summer Split LEC is beginning. But before heading into the new week, what can the audience and pro players take from the second week?

With G2 continuing to show their power alongside Excel, the win could go any direction. However, teams such as Astralis, Rogue, MAD Lions and Fnatic couldn't quite keep up with the pace of the other super giants and are holding out in their third position.

With some history-making events in the second week, here's an overview of what everyone can take from the event.

Vitality is slacking again

As usual, Vitality is lacking what it takes to get on that podium. The super-team has repeatedly let small issues scale and become unavoidable as the game progresses.

As this has happened every game, the team hasn't learned how to resolve these issues and is failing. But hey. At least they're consistent with their mistakes... right?

Astralis new team in LEC is working

Astralis new team has given them what is needed to get their name up there in the top three. Vizicsacsi is providing strength for weak sides which gives Dajor and Kobbe space to carry the game.

Xerxe has always had a good early game presence which has allowed the team to cover all bases of each match. In conclusion, the team's new layout is allowing them to develop their identity and become a strong team.

The Korean boot camp for LEC is a winner-maker

Excel was not especially one of the teams who were expected to be up there sitting next to G2. But their gameplay this split has been something to wonder at. They have really picked up the pace to compete with G2.

The Korean boot camp they attended seemed to have helped them with their decision-making as they become more aggressive within the game.

The top three could go any way

With a large number of teams placing in the top three, the finale could go any way. Although Excel and G2 are ahead, it isn't by a lot. With four teams in place for third, the gap between each place is not as large as it seems.

Predictions from fans thought that G2, Fnatic and Rogue would be competing for the win, but with Fnatic and Rogue sitting in third place, it couldn't be much farther from the truth. Excel has really stepped up the game to show they aren't a team to look down on.

LEC will resume on July 1 at 12 PM ET, opening with Misfits Gaming versus Team BDS.
