FC 25 Ratings: Predicting the best players in EA's next game

Not much is known about FC 25 just yet, however, one of the most highly anticipated parts of any new FIFA or EA FC game is the player ratings, with fans of the franchise eagerly waiting to find out what stats their favourite stars will have.

So, with that in mind, we've taken the ratings into our own hands by predicting who we think will be the top 50 rated players in FC 25, starting with the highest and ending with the lowest.

As is the case with every FIFA or EA FC game, all players within the FC 25 database will have their own unique rating, otherwise known as an Overall (OVR).

Although many ratings often divide opinion amongst fans, EA set out to base them on the player's current form and skill level in real life.

For example, Erling Haaland was upgraded to 91 OVR in FC 24 after scoring an incredible 52 goals across 53 appearances for Manchester City last season, while Cristiano Ronaldo was downgraded to 86-rated from 90 following an underwhelming year by his standards.

Just as we've seen throughout FC 24 so far, EA will often release Squad Updates which can change a player's in-game rating and potential, so it's important to remember that a lot of the ratings confirmed at launch will change in the months that follow.

Without further ado, let's take a look at the players who we think will be the highest-rated in FC 25 when it releases.

Kylian Mbappe (91 OVR)

We kick things off with the most exciting player in Ultimate Team, Kylian Mbappe, who is sure to be 91-rated once more after another fantastic season with PSG.

Rumours have circulated throughout football, suggesting that Mbappe will be a Real Madrid player next season, which means his Ultimate Team stock will go up even more! Can you imagine an Ultimate Team squad with Mbappe, Vinicius Jr, and Jude Bellingham?!

Erling Haaland (91 OVR)

Retaining his rating, we have picked Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, who is sure to be competing with Kylian Mbappe within this new generation of world-class players overtaking Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Haaland hasn't had a season as good as the 22/23, however, he still tops the Premier League goalscoring charts with 18 goals in 24 matches! A 91 OVR is our prediction for Haaland's rating in FC 25!

Caroline Graham Hansen (91 OVR)

Caroline Graham Hansen has become an Ultimate Team favourite in FC 24, since the introduction of female players into the game mode, and she is having the season of her life in Liga F with Barcelona.

The Norwegian winger has an incredible 17 goals and 16 assists in just 20 matches for the Catalan club and looks set to continue her insane dominance for the rest of the season. We believe the threshold will be 91 OVR once again, which is a +1 upgrade to Hansen's 90 rating, however, don't be surprised if she surpasses that rating!

Harry Kane (91 OVR)

A move to the Bundesliga has had its pros and cons for Harry Kane this season, as he searches for a first career trophy. The English striker is in the form of his life, scoring 31 goals and grabbing seven assists in 27 matches in the Bundesliga, however, his trophy curse looks set to continue.

That being said, we believe he is up there with the very best and a +1 OVR upgrade to a 91 rating is our prediction for FC 25.

Aitana Bonmati (91 OVR)

The Ballon d'Or Feminin holder has to be one of the highest-rated players in FC 25, which is why we have given Aitana Bonmati a +1 upgrade to a 91 OVR.

The Spanish midfielder has had an impressive season with Barcelona, and currently has eight goals and eight assists in 20 matches for the Catalan club, which is just three away from the tally that earned Bonmati the Ballon d'Or.

Kevin De Bruyne (90 OVR)

We have our first downgrade of FC 25 predicted here, with Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian has spent the majority of the season on the sidelines with an injury and has only played 10 matches for City.

That being said, we still believe him to be one of the best midfielders in the world and a 90-rated card would be a great OVR for De Bruyne, only receiving a -1 downgrade.

Vinicius Jr (90 OVR)

Brazilian winger and Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr, has been on fire this season, with 16 goal contributions in La Liga, and five contributions in five matches in the Champions League so far.

Vini Jr has been massively important for Real Madrid who look to win another La Liga title this year, and we have given him a +1 upgrade to a 90 OVR, which will be deadly alongside Mbappe if he joins Madrid this summer!

Alexia Putellas (90 OVR)

We have given Alexia Putellas a -1 downgrade to her rating in FC 25, purely based on the fact that she has spent a considerable amount of time out injured.

The former Ballon d'Or Feminin holder, has still managed 12 matches in Liga F this season, contributing seven times, and remains one of the best female players in the world. However, we believe a downgrade to a 90 OVR is the right choice.

Rodri (90 OVR)

Onto another Spanish midfielder now, and we have given a +1 upgrade to Manchester City CDM Rodri.

Undoubtedly the best defensive midfielder in the world, Rodri has been a rock for Manchester City for the past few seasons, and after featuring in TOTY in FC 24, we believe a 90-rated card is deserved for the Spaniard. He has also gone unbeaten in his last 62 games, which is an unbelievable stat for a player!

Virgil van Dijk (90 OVR)

The final player we have highlighted in this FC 25 ratings piece, is Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk, who has led by example this season, as Liverpool looks to win the league in the final season of the Klopp era.

The Dutch defender is the best in his position, and we have given van Dijk a +1 rating upgrade to a 90 OVR for FC 25, meaning he will be even more meta in the next version of the game!
