Warzone Pacific Weapon Balancing Update: Vanguard Weapons & Patch Notes


Raven Software's latest Warzone update isn't as expansive as the Warzone Pacific update from earlier in the week, but it's arguably more important. Following on from the Vanguard Season One update, Raven Software has released an encore update, of sorts, that addresses weapon balancing issues in Warzone. It's not the be-all and end-all, but it's going to be a welcome change for those of you jumping into Caldera over the weekend.

This update shouldn't require an additional update, but that doesn't mean you should ignore it. Here's the latest from the amended Warzone Pacific update Patch Notes...

New weapon balancing update for Warzone

In the amended Patch Notes, Raven Software starts their discussion on the latest weapon balancing update to hit Warzone with the following statement:

" Numerous changes have been made to Vanguard (VG) Weapons and Attachments. Names, Descriptions, Pros, Cons, and Stat Bars have been updated in-game to reflect these changes."

WELL BALANCED? - How much work do they need to do?

There aren't any details, but it looks like these changes are mainly cosmetic to help bring a uniform experience to the Vanguard weapons in Warzone and the Vanguard weapons in Vanguard. As for actual changes, we've got the following...

Assault Rifles

  • AK-47 - Black Ops Cold War
    • Initial Recoil Deviation increased;
  • EM2 - Black Ops Cold War
    • Neck Damage Multiplier decreased to 1.1, down from 1.2;
    • Recoil Magnitude increased;
    • Recoil Deviation increased;

Marksman Rifles

  • Crossbow - Modern Warfare
    • Neck Damage increased to 250, up from 200
    • Upper Torso Damage increased to 240, up from 200
    • Lower Torso Damage increased to 220, up from 200
  • Kar98K - Modern Warfare
    • Flinch Resistance decreased by 62%
  • R1 Shadowhunter - Black Ops Cold War
    • Neck Damage increased to 250, up from 200
    • Upper Torso Damage increased to 240, up from 200
    • Lower Torso Damage increased to 220, up from 200

Melee Weapons

  • Ballistic Knife - Black Ops Cold War
    • Upper Torso Damage increased to 248, up from 246
    • Lower Torso Damage increased to 225, up from 195
    • Upper Arm Damage increased to 200, up from 180
    • Lower Arm Damage increased to 190, up from 180
    • Upper Leg Damage increased to 200, up from 160
    • Lower Leg Damage increased to 190, up from 160
  • Baseball Bat - Black Ops Cold War
    • Lunge Distance decreased by 47%
  • Battle Axe - Black Ops Cold War
    • Lunge Distance decreased by 38%
  • Cane - Black Ops Cold War
    • Lunge Distance decreased by 46%
  • Mace - Black Ops Cold War
    • Lunge Distance decreased by 42%

Shotguns

  • Gallo SA12 - Black Ops Cold War
    • Movement Speed decreased by 1.2%
    • ADS Movement Speed decreased by 8.6%

Sniper Rifles

  • Swiss K31 - Black Ops Cold War
    • Flinch Resistance decreased by 62%

Submachine Guns

  • OTs 9 - Black Ops Cold War
    • Maximum Damage decreased to 30, down from 31
    • Headshot Damage Multiplier decreased to 1.33, down from 1.52
  • MP5 - Black Ops Cold War
    • Maximum Damage decreased to 20, down from 31
    • Headshot Damage Multiplier decreased to 1.41, down from 1.45
  • MP5 - Modern Warfare
    • Fire Rate decreased to .08, down from .075
    • Sprint to Fire Speed decreased by 2.6%

Attachments - Optics

  • G16 2.5x - Vanguard Assault Rifles
    • Eye position shifted forward

  • Raider Stock - Black Ops Cold War
    • Movement Speed modifiers decreased by 25%
