It seems Steam acknowledged the Tribal Chief ahead of time. The digital platform leaked the cover for the upcoming WWE 2K25 featuring Roman Reigns as the star.
The former WWE Undisputed Champion can be seen striking one of his signature poses with his fist pressed against the ring mat as he readies himself to deliver a Superman punch.
Keen fans noticed the image and shared it online with Steam swiftly removing it from the game's page, changing it for a generic 2k25 logo. Too little too late.
The reveal of Reigns as 2k25's cover star might not be that surprising if you tuned in to Raw. During the show's debut on Netflix, WWE teased the upcoming entry in the series with a quick Paul Heyman promo.
The Wiseman was celebrating Reign's triumph as the OTC became Tribal Chief once more, stating that the whole world needed a platform to acknowledge the former Big Dog. Reigns being a busy man scheduled the reveal for January 27.
If you're one of those WWE fans who have been sick of the company trying to push Reigns as their top guy for years, you might be surprised to hear he was never the cover star during his historic reign as WWE Champion.
The last time the Samoan was featured on the cover was when the infamous 2k20 was released in October 2019. Reigns shared the cover with Becky Lynch of a game so unpolished, it forced the company to cancel 2021's entry.
The series would return with 2k22 in 2022, featuring lucha icon Rey Mysterio as the cover. Then, John Cena in 2023, and Cody Rhodes in 2024, would be the main wrestlers featured.
After the promo, multiple Twitter accounts including Xbox shared official images of 2k25. While fans are excited at the promised "massive gameplay changes" coming, some are wary about the fact that the title will be launching on last-gen consoles in the year 2025.
We'll just have to wait and see if the developers deliver the goods after a solid 2k24 entry. For me, personally, I'm hoping they expand MyGM even more this year.
