The 2023 PlayStation Showcase has been officially announced, with Sony once again set to blow the doors off of the gaming industry.
With many major titles set to be revealed and showcased at this event, there is no better time for gamers to get their anticipation caps on.
Confirmed to be running over 1 hour and showcasing the very best that the PS5 has to offer, the event is sure to set the pulse racing.
With that in mind, let's take a look at everything we know so far about this major event.
LATEST - Countdown Begins
The countdown has started to one of the biggest events in gaming, with Sony confirming that the PlayStation Showcase will take place on Wednesday, May 24.
As ever, the event will showcase the biggest and best titles that PS5 and PS VR2 have to offer, with some hotly-anticipated titles expected to feature prominently.
It seems almost certain that we will see our first gameplay trailer for Spider-Man 2, developed by Insomniac Games, whilst a further tease for Wolverine is not off the cards.
Major surprises are certainly in store and if last year's event is anything to go by, we could be in for a real treat.
2023 PlayStation Showcase
The 2023 PlayStation Showcase event has been confirmed, with a date, start time and potential run time all confirmed by Sony.
The event promises to showcase the very best upcoming PS5 and PS VR2 games that are currently in development, with titles from major developers and indie teams set to be displayed.
In previous years, the PlayStation Showcase event has given us glimpses of the biggest and best games on the market, with last year's offering giving us our first look at God of War: Ragnarok.
With Sony boasting some big upcoming releases, this year and beyond, we should expect the 2023 PlayStation showcase to truly blow our minds.
Date and Start Time
The 2023 PlayStation Showcase will take place on Wednesday, May 24.
The event will begin at 1 pm Pacific Time / 9 pm British Time.
Confirmed to last for around an hour, the event will showcase the biggest and best PS5 and PS VR2 games that are currently in development.
As ever, the event will be live-streamed and is available to watch on Twitch and YouTube.
With any event like this, major trailers will also be revealed alongside the live stream, meaning you can immediately jump back in and re-watch your favourite bits.
Potential Reveals
Naturally, minds started to race when this event was announced, especially considering how vastly the event delivered last year.
In 2022, we saw snippets of God of War: Ragnarok, Spider-Man 2, Wolverine and many more, leaving all PlayStation fans with their heads spinning.
This year, we're anticipating the same level of hype, with major showcases and surprises set to take centre stage.
Spider-Man 2
The game with the most hype ahead of the 2023 PlayStation Showcase is undoubtedly Insomniac's Spider-Man 2.
An initial teaser trailer was showcased at last year's event, but a full-on reveal is expected this time around.
With Spider-Man 2 almost certain to release around September time this year, we're expecting the game to receive the same treatment that God of War: Ragnarok received.
One thing is for sure, we're certain that Peter Parker and Miles Morales will be making a massive impact on this year's PlayStation Showcase.
Ghost Of Tsushima 2
Everyone loves surprises, and this would be a reveal to get the pulses racing.
Ghost Of Tsushima 2 has been rumoured for some time and fans of the original game are desperate to see another foray into this particularly beautiful world.
Whilst nothing is confirmed, we could see Sony tease Ghost Of Tsushima 2 like they did with Marvel's Wolverine, showing a flash with a title card to get people talking.
Whilst any potential sequel isn't likely to hit for another couple of years, we could still see one of the major teases of the century.
Wolverine
A game we know very little about, Marvel's Wolverine was showcased at last year's PlayStation event and was confirmed to also be developed by Insomniac Games.
Whilst we only got a very small glimpse of this new title, there's every chance more story details are teased at this year's showcase.
Of course, with the game still in early development, there's a chance we may not see anything from this game but either way, we're still hyped to see Weapon X eventually arrive on our consoles.
