The Seattle Mariners and Nintendo have joined forces once again. The video game giants, who previously owned the Seattle-based MLB team, have become the Mariners' "first-ever official jersey sleeve partner."

Starting on March 27, the Seattle Mariners jersey sleeves will feature the Nintendo and Nintendo Switch 2 logos. This is a great way for Nintendo to market its upcoming console, which will be released in 2025.

It also makes sense that this partnership is happening with the Seattle Mariners. If you want to market your console to the American public, what better way to do it than joining forces with a long-term partner, who plays in one of America's most popular sports leagues?

As mentioned above, the relationship between the Seattle Mariners and Nintendo goes way back. The Japanese video game colossus bought the team in 1992, preventing a relocation to Tampa Bay, and only sold its majority ownership stake in 2016.

But Nintendo still has a 10% ownership stake in the team, and with a long and successful relationship between both parties, this partnership makes total sense.

Most teams don't have a relationship with a sponsor that goes well beyond the business aspect. Nintendo helped the team remain in Seattle, and that's something Mariners fans and Seattle residents will never forget.
