New York City, referred to by many as the City of Dreams. However recent years have been more like a nightmare if you’re a fan of the Knicks.
The Knicks have failed to make the playoffs in six consecutive seasons, with their last playoff appearance coming at the end of the 2012-13 campaign when a Carmelo Anthony-led Knicks side finished second in the Eastern Conference.
A dire 17-65 record left the Knicks rock bottom of the Eastern Conference last season and whilst the only way is up, they seem a long way away from any success as it stands.

Thankfully for you Knicks fans, MyTEAM gives you the ability to throw it back to the better days by bringing in those old fan favourites in order to make an NYC super team.
Here is the best starting five comprised of the best New York Knicks you can currently buy on MyTEAM:
PG - ‘95 Charlie Ward (OVR 82)
Card type: Multidimensional
Best stats: 98 shot IQ, 95 hands, 90 steal
Cost: 3k
Whilst there are better Knicks point guards available to earn through the rewards scheme on 2K20, the best currently available to buy is Charlie Ward.
Now you’d be forgiven if you hadn’t heard of Ward before, although he did spend 10 years with the Knicks between 1994 and 2004 before time with the San Antonio Spurs and the Houston Rockets.
Ward was played football in his college days, winning the Heisman Trophy and the Davey O’Brien award. Despite this, Ward was not drafted by any NFL teams and instead made the switch to basketball.
Although his 82 OVR may put you off, Ward is a slick player in-game. Athleticism (83), outside scoring (81) and defending (81) are his best attributes, with a 90 rated steal making him a menace on the edge of the key ready to set up that fast break.
SG - ‘93 Bernard King (OVR 96)
Card type: Legacy
Best stats: 98 shot IQ, 98 offensive consistency, 97 draw foul
Cost: 110k
Now whilst we could forgive you if you hadn’t heard of Ward, we cannot if you don’t know of the greatness of Bernard King.
Three of his four All-Star appearances came during his time in NYC, including both of his All-NBA First Team appearances in 1984 and 1985. He also ended the 1985 season as the NBA scoring champion, averaging a huge 32.9 PPG.

King played for many NBA clubs during his 16-year stint on the court, however it was the five years spent in New York in the 1980s where he caused the most damage.
Like others to come in this side, King is playing in his secondary position rather than his favoured small forward role, but with a card like this it really doesn’t matter.
King can cook from both inside and out with an 87 rating in outside scoring, consisting of a 95 rated close shot, a 92 rated mid-shot, and 86 inside scoring. With his ability to drive to the basket (96 driving layup and 90 driving dunk) also a key strength.
SF - Marcus Morris Sr (OVR 88)
Card type: Moments of the Week
Best stats: 94 shot IQ, 94 stamina, 93 shot 3pt
Cost: 7k
The first and only current Knicks player in this starting five is the former Celtic, Marcus Morris Sr.
Somewhat surprisingly, Morris Sr received this Moments of the Week card in week five despite losing all three games in that week. That being said, Morris Sr did drop three consecutive 20+ point games, shooting 15 threes from 21 attempts, not bad for someone who isn’t known for his three-ball!

Given that incredible form from deep, it is no surprise to see that his shooting from beyond the arc has seen a significant boost (93 rated 3pt shot). That being said, his outside scoring as a whole (92) is very impressive on this card. He is sure to put up some tasty numbers for your MyTEAM.
PF - Carmelo Anthony (OVR 94)
Card type: Premium VIPBest stats: 98 stamina, 98 offensive consistency, 95 shot midCost: 63k
The 10-time All-Star made seven of his appearances in the capital, and like King, Carmelo Anthony is a former NBA scoring champion, averaging 28.7 points on the way to that accolade in 2013. Melo is widely recognised as one of the best players to never win a championship and at 35, his time is fast running out.
Whilst he may not have won a championship in real life, he’ll certainly help you to win plenty of games on MyTEAM. His athleticism (91) is one of the best on the game, with his 92 rated speed and 92 rated acceleration sure to frighten many opponents as he burns down the court.
C - ‘74 Willis Reed (OVR 94)
Card type: LegacyBest stats: 98 offensive consistency, 98 stamina, 97 shot closeCost: 32k
To round off this all-star New York Knicks five we have one of the best to ever play in the Big Apple, Willis Reed.
A one-team man, Reed spent the entirety of his playing days with the New York Knicks, winning two titles (1970 and 1973) and picking up the award for the Finals MVP in both of those title-winning campaigns.
Reed went on to coach the Knicks for a year after he retired, although his career on the sidelines wasn’t as successful as his days on the court.
If we are being honest, there isn’t much that Reed can't do. His 94 rating in both offensive and defensive rebounding makes him an ideal player to have in the key, whilst his scoring in the post (93 rated inside scoring) is up there with the best of any center in 2K20.

Things have settled down around the 2K community after a turbulent start and players are finally enjoying the game.
