The Grizzlies are a team often associated with tough interior play and grit-and-grind defense. As a team originally located in Vancouver, the franchise has only been around since 1995. They moved to Memphis in 2001 and have no accolades to their team besides regular season success. They now appear to be settling in for a rebuild as they look to move the last of their cornerstone pieces over the past decade.
Starting Lineup
Pau Gasol, C/PF (93)
Age: 25
Height:7’0”
Traits: Two-Way Superstar
Best Stats: Post Offense, Layups, Strength
After being selected 3rd overall in the draft and immediately traded to the Grizzlies, the elder of the Gasol brothers enjoyed the early portion of his career with the franchise. He was the first foreign player to win the NBA Rookie of the Year award and would eventually win a couple of championships with the Lakers. Oddly enough, his trade to the Lakers was completed by the Lakers sending his younger brother to the Grizzlies. For his career so far (still playing), he has averaged 17.4 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game.
Marc Gasol, C (93)
Age: 30
Height: 7’1”
Traits: Two-Way Star
Best Attributes: Post Offense, Strength, Blocks
Marc was only drafted in the second round of the draft by the Lakers, one of rare second rounders to become a NBA All-Star. He never played a single game for the Lakers, as they traded his draft rights to the Grizzlies in part of the trade package that sent Pau to the Lakers. He was received awards to the tune of an All-Star and Defensive Player of the Year and has averaged 15.2 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.5 blocks per game up to this point in his career.
Zach Randolph, PF (88)
Age: 28
Height: 6’9
Traits: Rebounding Scoring Machine
Best Stats: Strength, Post Offense, Rebounding
Randolph is a former first round pick that joined Memphis in 2009, via trade from the Clippers. He earned NBA All-Star honors twice with the Grizzlies, the only awards in his career. He was a force to be reckoned with inside, averaging 16.6 points and 9.1 rebounds over his career so far. While he is still under contract with the Kings, he does not play at all as they look to develop their younger core.
Mike Conley, PG (87)
Age: 28
Height: 6’1”
Traits: Two-Way Superstar
Best Stats: Vertical, Ball Handling, Stamina
Mike Conley is the youngest of the core pieces from the glory days in Memphis and still producing at a high level. While trade rumors swirl as Memphis looks to rebuild, Conley is still putting up borderline All-Star numbers. Unfortunately, the solid point guard has never received an All-Star award at this point in his career. He has averaged 14.3 points, 5.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game so far in his career, playing every season for Memphis.
Shareef Abdur-Rahim, PF/SF (86)
Age: 23
Height: 6’8”

Best Stats: Post Offense, Rebounding, Stamina
Shareef is the lone Grizzlies star from their days in Vancouver. As the third overall pick, he made an immediate impact for the team. As a rookie, he averaged 18.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. He would only play for the Grizzlies until 2001 and would be name an All-Star in 2002 while playing for the Hawks.
