For a team that holds a .486 W-L%, the Detroit Pistons are actually pretty good in terms of the history and legacy they have had. With 71 seasons under their belt, they have made 41 playoff appearances, as well having gotten 3 championships, one which was as recent as 2004.
Starting Lineup
Isiah Thomas, PG/SG (96)
Age: 24
Height:6’1”
Traits: All-Around Superstar
Best Stats: Layups, Ball Handling, Passing
A life-long Pistons player, Isiah Thomas did more than enough to earn himself his Hall of Fame spot. Having played for them for 12 years, he was able to end with a solid 19.2 points per game average, along with a staggering 9.3 rebounds per game (He peaked at 13.9 rebounds per game in ‘84-’85). Not only that, he held onto an incredible 1.9 steals per game, making him one to always keep an eye out on.
Joe Dumars, SG/PG (93)
Age: 30
Height: 6’3”
Traits: Two-Way Superstar
Best Attributes: Lateral Quickness, Layups, Mid-Range
Although he’s more into the business side of the NBA, don’t let that fool you. Joe Dumars has over 1,000 games of experience in the NBA. During his career, he was able to amass a decent 16.1 points per game average, as well as a nice 4.5 assists per game. He also held a mediocre 2.2 rebounds per game, as he was more of the middle-man for the team and the glue that held them together.
Grant HIll, SF/SG (93)
Age: 24
Height: 6’8”
Traits: All-Around Superstar
Best Stats: Layups, Vertical, Speed
Although Grant Hill ended up on the CLippers before retiring, he originally started out with the Pistons, which was seen as his miracle years. During his six seasons with the Pistons, Hill was able to amass 21.6 points on average, as well as a solid 4.1 assists, making him a feared pointman. His most notable asset, though, was his ability to steal the ball, which netted him a solid 1.6 steals per game.
Bob Lanier, C (93)
Age: 25
Height: 6’11”
Traits: Two-Way Star
Best Stats: Rebounding, Post Offense, Strength
WIth a long career behind him, Bob Lanier was definitely worthy of all of his titles and his Hall of Fame spot. During his 10 seasons with the Pistons, he was able to collect a nice 22.7 point average per game, as well as a good 3.3 assists per game. His main power, though, came from his defensive game. He was able to gain an amazing 11.8 rebounds per game, as well as a monstrous 2.0 blocks per game and 1.2 steals per game, which is extremely difficult to do as a center of all things.
Chauncey Billups, PG/SG (91)
Age: 28
Height: 6’3”
Traits: All-Around Superstar
Best Stats: Lateral Quickness, Ball Handling, Mid-Range
Chauncey Billups is pretty much a legend in his own right, but that doesn’t mean the owners or organizations saw that. Billups bounced around from team to team often, so his years with the Detroit Pistons were spread out over many years, and not exactly all in order. But, over the 482 games he did play for them in 8 seasons, he was able to get a decent 16.5 points per game for them, as well as a nice 6.2 assist average per game as well. He also had a solid 1.0 steals per game and 3.2 rebounds per game to top it all off.
