The baseball season is looming large, which means MLB The Show 20 is nearing.
The hype-train for the next installment of SIE San Diego's amazing series was forced to take a break thanks to an extraordinary piece of team self-sabotage from the Boston Red Sox.
They took the sensational decision to trade veteran starter David Price and outfielder Mookie Betts, who is widely regarded as the second-best position player in baseball, to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The consensus is that the Red Sox got far less than they could have in the trade, but the hidden aspect of this trade for gamers and The Show players, is that the LA Dodgers have suddenly become what looks like an unstoppable juggernaut.

BOOM: Cody Bellinger can mash in MLB The Show
While Diamond Dynasty is drawing in more and more players, Franchise Mode and its surrounding offline game modes are still extremely popular.
Player ratings are yet to be released, but the expectation was that thanks in part to their signing of Gerrit Cole, the New York Yankees would be the best team to use in MLB The Show 20.
That has been turned on its head now.

The Dodgers already have the reigning National League MVP in their outfield. Cody Bellinger is expected to get a 98 OVR on launch, way up from him 85 OVR last year.
Throw in Corey Seager, Max Muncy, Justin Turner, a rotation that includes Clayton Kershaw and Walker Buehler, and the best closer in the game Kenley Jansen and you already had a strong team.
Mookie Betts puts them over the top.

MVP: The Red Sox star is now a Dodger
Betts had a 97 OVR launch rating in The Show 19, and that shouldn't move much for The Show 20.
He is a five-tool player who is a Gold Glove defender, capable of stealing 30+ bases and hitting 30+ home runs.

Adding that to the mix makes the Dodgers a massive favorite to once again take the NL Pennant and maybe finally get over the line and win the World Series.
