Another baseball season upon us, another year that veteran righty Bartolo Colon continues to defy the odds.
The Texas Rangers' husky hurler was the star of last night's game against the defending World Series champion Houston Astros. Colon tossed seven perfect innings before allowing a walk to Carlos Correa to lead off the eighth, followed by a double to Josh Reddick. He lasted 7.2 innings and struck out seven hitters, going toe to toe with the ever-dangerous Justin Verlander before Texas ultimately won 3-1 in ten innings.
