Version 5.3 of Genshin Impact will bring three new characters to its ever-increasing roster, including the Pyro Archon Mavuika. It'll also feature the long-lost Chronicled Banner, this time with Liyue cast and a couple of tweaks.

The update is packed in terms of banners, and even though 5.3 is light on added content with no major expansion, there will be plenty of events to make up for it. One of them is the annual Lantern Rite celebration.

All that said, here is the full banner schedule as well as events for Genshin Impact 5.3.

Chronicled Wish is returning for phase 2 of version 5.3. If you're new, the banner pools multiple characters from one region and weapons together with the same pity system as regular. You get to choose any one specific character or weapon to target.

It's returning with a looser restriction on which characters can be featured. Previously, only characters that had more than three banners and weren't rated up in the last three versions could be included.

That is changing, which means the long-forgotten adepti disciple, Shenhe, is making her return. Below are all the characters and the weapons for the banner.

The biggest event for 5.3 is the Lantern Rite. It will have an accompanying story with all the usuals you'd expect from the annual commemoration. Here's what Lantern Rite has in store for 2025:

  • Three mini-game events—Rattan Figures duels where you play a Tetris-like game to damage each other, a combat event, and an event where you design envelopes.
  • A free 4-star selector with all Liyue 4-star characters.
  • A new skin for Xiangling.
  • Lantern Rite story quests.

Expect rewards in Primogems, Crown of Insight, and other upgrade materials.

Outside of the Lantern Rite, here are the other smaller events scheduled for version 5.3 of Genshin Impact:

  • May Fortune Find You: A 7-day log-in event with 10 Intertwined Fates and other resources as rewards. You'll also get 1,000 Primogems through in-game mail during that time.
  • Emblem of Steadfast Valor: A parkour mini-game similar to the challenges you see in Natlan's open world.
  • On the Trail of Behemoths: A combat event, particularly tough.
  • Shuyu's Baffling Beetle Battle Bowl: A new variation of Almighty Itto's uber-popular beetle fighting event.
  • Overflowing Abundance: Double character talent level-up and weapon ascension materials. Whenever it is up, you can farm all books and materials instead of just a select few for the day.

Similar to any other events, expect rewards in Primogems, Crown of Insight, and other upgrade materials from the events.

All of these were confirmed during the 5.3 livestream. Developers also teased some upcoming casts like Skirk, Iansan, Ifa, and Dahlia. So, even if you're saving your gems by skipping current banners, you'll have to check these events, as a lot of new characters are about to join the fray.
