After a busy first half, the second phase of the Genshin Impact 5.3 update continues to offer no respite with Arlecchino and Clorinde being the featured banners. Ruthless in their pursuits yet bound by an unwavering sense of duty, these two are the finest ladies in the HoYoverse's RPG.
They are extremely capable damage dealers and you won't struggle on any content with their teams. Your biggest struggle will be picking one between them if you admire them both.
But since Arlecchino and Clorinde are of the same archetype of DPS, pitting them together in Genshin Impact is much easier. Here's how both of these units fare.
Are Clorinde and Arlecchino Worth Pulling in Genshin Impact 5.3?
Yes, both Arlecchino and Clorinde are worth wishing for in Genshin Impact. They're excellent damage dealers and score meta-level numbers on their damage sheets. Plus, with both having different elements, you won't lose anything chasing after both.
Clorinde or Arleccinho?
Whether you wish for Clorinde or Arlecchino depends on your account. If you already have one or more Pyro DPS (high chance since the recent banners had many with Mavuika in phase 1 and Lyney and Hu Tao before), you should go for Clorinde.
But that's the only condition where Clorinde should be considered above Arlecchino. Out and out, Arlecchino is a better damage dealer than Clorinde. Even among the other Pyro DPS, Arlecchino is arguably better than all bar the Pyro Archon herself, Mavuika.
Likewise, if you already have good Electro DPS, there is little reason to pull for Clorinde. Although in terms of excellent and reliable on-field DPS, there are only Cyno and Raiden Shogun, who are both Electro. Still, there isn't a point where you'll need three good DPS from a single element in Genshin Impact currently, even if we consider Imaginarium Theater.
To sum up, unless your account heavily favours pulling for Clorinde, we recommend going for Arlecchino. Of course, you can go for both. While Arlecchino is a better damage dealer, Clorinde isn't far behind, and you can comfortably clear the hardest content with her as well.
The upcoming patch will feature Mizuki, and since she is a standard unit, it's unlikely she'll be worth stressing over.
Arlecchino's Playstyle in Genshin Impact
Arlecchino is your standard Pyro DPS (Crit, ATK, Pyro DMG, EM-scaler) but with a unique "Bond of Life" twist. If you don't want to bother yourself with the delicacies of the mechanics, it basically means healing her isn't a bright idea.
After performing charged attacks on enemies that are affected by her Elemental Skill, Arlecchino gains a Bond of Life. This prevents her from being healed; she also gains buffs when she has a well-stacked Bond of Life.
Every time you use Arelecchino, start with her Elemental Skill first, and then using the support characters' abilities should be enough for her to get the maximum buff.
Like most Pyro characters, you use Arlecchino with burn and melt supports (overload is good, too). But since she cannot be healed, running defensive support like Zhongli can become a requirement if you're struggling with her playstyle.
Clorinde's Playstyle in Genshin Impact
Like Arlecchino, Clorinde is also a traditional on-field DPS that prefers stats like CRIT, ATK, EM, and Electro DMG. She is pretty easy to play, her regular combo is her Elemental Skill followed by her three normal attacks and then skill again.
That's because Clorinde gains Electro infusion in her skill and deals rapid attacks by pulling out her pistol. It also means she works better with Dendro teammates in Aggravate and Hyperbloom teams. Of course, it doesn't mean you cannot play anything else like Overload if you wish.
That's everything about wishing for Clorinde and Arlecchino as well as their playstyle. Both are DPS and capable ones, so pulling them is not something we'd say is a mistake.
The game doesn't lack many DPS, so if you already have plenty of them, it's perfectly sound to sit this one out and keep an eye on the future.
