With just 10 gameweeks remaining, the business end of the 2022/23 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season is well and truly upon us.
FPL Double GW29 will be the largest double gameweek in Fantasy to date which means there is real potential for a triple-digit score this week.
With that in mind, FPL managers will need to target players from the teams with the most favourable double gameweek fixtures.
Manchester United are one of those teams which makes Bruno Fernandes (£9.6m) the perfect midfielder to transfer into your squad.
In this article, we will be breaking down the Portuguese playmaker as an FPL asset based on his form, fixtures and upcoming opponents.
Be aware, the Gameweek 29 deadline is on Saturday, 1 April at 11am BST / 6am ET.
Form
Bruno Fernandes has not failed to produce in previous double gameweeks this season, having amassed 31 points over Man Utd’s Double Gameweek 20 and Double Gameweek 22.
This figure is just a single point behind Marcus Rashford's (£7.3m) score for those weeks.
Fernandes’ ownership of under eight per cent makes him a huge differential for his two matches this week in Fantasy.
More recently, Fernandes produced a double-digit haul in GW24 when he picked up two assists and maximum bonus points.
The Portuguese international is on penalty duty too and has a great record from the spot so is a definite captaincy option in FPL this week.
Fixtures
Manchester United are one of twelve teams that play twice in Gameweek 29, alongside the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle and Brighton
The Red Devils will face Newcastle (A) and Brentford (H) in DGW29 and have subsequent matches against Everton (H) and Nottingham Forest (A).
Manchester United's next four Premier League fixtures are as follows:
- GW29 - Newcastle (A)
- GW29 - Brentford (H)
- GW30 - Everton (H)
- GW31 - Nottingham Forest (A)
United will play two matches at home and two away in their next four, before blanking in Gameweek 32.
Erik ten Hag's side has a home record of nine wins, three draws and one loss this season and an away record of six wins, two draws and five losses.
Opponents
Now, it's time to take a more in-depth look at Manchester United's upcoming opponents.
GW29 (Newcastle) - A trip to St. James' Park will not be easy for the Red Devils. The return fixture ended in a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford back in October.
GW29 (Brentford) - Manchester United will seek revenge on Brentford after they were humiliated by the Bees 4-0 last season. In front of a full Old Trafford crowd, United could expose Brentford's poor defensive away record.
GW30 (Everton) - Sean Dyche's Everton have conceded 10 goals throughout the last five matches, averaging two goals conceded per game. It's fair to say it will be tough to stop United's lethal attack at Old Trafford.
GW31 (Nottingham Forest) - 16th-place Nottingham Forest have failed to keep a clean sheet since GW22. Forest have conceded a total of 11 goals in their last four outings.
