With our first look at FIFA 23 rumoured to be just around the corner, you can be certain it won't be long until we start seeing some player ratings.
With rating season one of the most exciting in the build-up to a new FIFA, hype begins to swirl surrounding top-rated talents.
With the Premier League harbouring the best in the world, we've taken our pick for who should be rated the highest.
That man is... Cristiano Ronaldo
CR7 - Defying Age
We all know how good Cristiano Ronaldo is, but this season appears to have further cemented that fact.
Alongside his fellow GOAT Lionel Messi, CR7 has defied age and continued to perform to an outstanding level, even in his late 30s.
His performances for a sub-par Manchester United have been phenomenal, conjuring memorable hattricks against Tottenham and Norwich.
Whilst he may not have been instigating the high-press for United, the Portuguese star still turned in some incredible performances, earning high-rated cards throughout FIFA 22.
Ronaldo proved so impressive this season that his Team of the Season card boasted an incredible 97 rating, something only bettered by one player in the game.
Big Performances
Ronaldo will turn 38 next season - and we're expecting it to be his last at the elite level in Europe.
New stars like Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez have entered the Premier League, and there's no doubt that superstars like Mo Salah and Kevin De Bruyne have their own stake to claim.
That being said, Ronaldo's consistency throughout the FIFA brand, combined with his top performances across a tricky season with United, warrants him to be in the conversation for highest rated Premier League player in FIFA 23.
Ronaldo began FIFA 22 with a rating of 91 - joint-highest alongside Kevin De Bruyne.
Considering the class he's shown this season, and the fact he's hauled Manchester United to any respectability they still possess, we think it would be criminal for him to get downgraded.
Whilst age will always be a factor in the mind of EA Sports, there's no doubt in our minds that CR7 is still performing amongst Europe's elite.
One Last Hurrah
No one knows what the future holds for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Some may count him out, but his physical capabilities continue to defy the odds.
We're not suggesting that he is actually the best player in the Premier League, merely a phenomenon who deserves to be in the conversation at the top.
With FIFA 23 representing the last traditional entry in the franchise, we think a former cover star and present-day powerhouse should top the Premier League pile.
There's every chance - both in the case of Ronaldo and Messi - that we could be seeing the final 90+ OVR card for two of football's best, and we'd love nothing more than to see Ronaldo top the pile in FIFA 23.
