The Team of the Year will be revealed later today, bringing some massive cards to FIFA 22 Ultimate Team!
Although we're still waiting for official confirmation, the leakers have been up to their old tricks again, and it looks like we have a very good idea of the final XI.
Find out all the latest news and leaks surrounding TOTY below, as well as who we think will feature in the final squad.
Latest - Full Team Leaked
As shown in this Tweet from EA, official confirmation for Team of the Year is set to come at 10:30am ET / 3:30pm GMT.
However, we've been used to getting information well before official announcements, and it is no different with TOTY.
Fut Sheriff leaked a full squad yesterday and judging by their previous leaks we're expecting it to be spot on.
The big news is that TOTY doesn't include Mohamed Salah, who everyone thought would definitely be included.
It also goes against the polls we had seen, although they could have been wrong.
Leaked Vote Percentages
Voting has now closed for Team of the Year, so we can start to get a bit more of an idea of who could be included.
Much like an exit poll during election time, @FUT22News has been finding out who is being voted for and produced some data.
As stated on the account, "all data is recorded from thousands of responses from own research", so there is room for error, but we like what they've done!
If the numbers are to be believed then it looks like Lewandowski, Messi and Salah definitely make the Ultimate XI, but the 12th Player spot will be fought over by a few.
You can look at all the leaked percentages by position here.
What is TOTY?
The Team of the Year promo is exactly what it says on the tin, the best performing XI of the past year.
Expect it to include a goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders, and three attackers, but not necessarily conforming to their positions.
It will probably also have a 12th man inclusion, which was picked up by Lionel Messi last year.
There will also be an honourable mentions list, for recognition of players that put in top performances but just didn't make the cut.
To make the promo event bigger we should see TOTY Flashback and TOTY Moments players in SBCs, as has happened in previous years.
When will TOTY start?
As expected, the Team of the Year will come to the game in mid-January.
TOTY Schedule:
- Friday, 7 January - Forward Nominees revealed
- Saturday, 8 January - Midfield Nominees revealed
- Sunday, 9 January - Defender & Goalkeeper Nominees revealed
- Monday, 10 January - Voting begins
- Tuesday, 18 January - Voting closes
- Thursday, 20 January - TOTY revealed
This suggests that the first Team of the Year cards will arrive in packs on Friday, 21 January, but that is yet to be confirmed.
Predictions
Now we have seen all the nominations we're taking a look at what players will be most likely to get to the final XI.
A great indication for player inclusions is the Balon d'Or shortlist and the FIFPro World XI, although we don't expect to see Dani Alves making a surprise appearance in the Ultimate XI!
Forwards
Surely it must be the year for Mohamed Salah to be included, with many seeing him as the current best in the world.
Liverpool didn't have the best of seasons last campaign, which makes people forget that Salah very nearly got the Golden Boot, with 22 league goals.
This season he has been unstoppable, already with 32 goal involvements in 26 games, we could see records tumble.
Along with Salah, we are almost certain that Robert Lewandowski will be included - he just has to be!
A record-breaking goalscoring season last campaign has been followed up by more this term, with many seeing Messi winning the Balon d'Or as a travesty.
It doesn't quite make up for missing out on that prize, but getting into the TOTY can give a bit of happiness to the Bayern Munich man.

Midfielders
Everyone's favourite Frenchman, we fully expect N’Golo Kante to feature in FIFA 22 Team of the Year.
He picked up the Man of the Match award in the 2021 Champions League final and has taken his game up a notch, definitely making him one of the world’s best three midfielders.
He might not be that popular an inclusion, but Kante's Chelsea teammate Jorginho has had a great year, which saw him finish third for the Balon d'Or.
A tempo setter for Chelsea and Italy, last season saw Thomas Tuchel transform Chelsea into Champions League winners, and Jorginho was at the heart of that.
Despite a rare penalty miss in the Euro 2020 final, Jorginho was also a key member of that squad.
Picking up two of the biggest trophies in world football means Jorginho is really in with a shout for a TOTY inclusion.

Defenders
Another man who is basically guaranteed to be included is Manchester City centre-back Ruben Dias.
He has come into the side and had a similar impact that Virgil van Dijk did at Liverpool, helping City win the Premier League in his first season, as well as reach the Champions League final.
City's defence has now been transformed, once it was their biggest weakness, now they are the most miserly around.
His City and Portugal teammate Joao Cancelo is another frontrunner for inclusion in the final XI.
A playmaker masquerading as a full-back, you could mistake him for a CAM, as he has become crucial for how City create attacks.

Goalkeepers
Euro 2020 winner, penalty shoot-out hero, and a high-profile move to moneybags PSG. It has been quite the year for Gianluigi Donnarumma.
The Italian stopper is our front-runner for Team of the Year in FIFA 22, and he will be immense!
