Although the PS5 was released nearly four years ago, many gamers continue using the PlayStation 4. The EA FC franchise still has a huge player base on the old-gen platform.
With the launch of FC 25 almost here, and the game introducing tons of new gameplay features, as well as additions to Ultimate Team and Career Mode, PS4 players want to know if the game is coming to their favorite console.
So let's find out if FC is coming to PS4.
Will FC 25 be on PS4?
EA SPORTS FC 25 is coming to the PS4, with the game being available to play on Friday 27 September 2024. Early access through the Ultimate Edition begins on Friday 20 September 2024.
Fans who pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition by August 20 will receive some player benefits, including special limited-time historic player items to build their Football Ultimate Team squads in both EA SPORTS FC 24 & EA SPORTS FC 25.
Just like it happened in previous old-gen versions, the PS4 version of FC 25 will not include most of the new features. The FC 25 PlayStation store page warns fans of that saying:
"Although this game is playable on PS5, some features available on PS4 may be absent"
It's still not known if features such as FC IQ, Rush mode, start points, and revamped player development in Career Mode, among many others, will make the PS4 version. But not all of them will make it.
There's no denying that upgrading to the next generation of consoles is exciting, but for some, it is not an option. Many people still use old-gen consoles for various reasons, whether due to price, lack of availability, or personal preference.
While this is completely understandable, there will come a point when new and upcoming games are designed for next-gen only. That time is closer than ever, especially for EA Sports titles, as both College Football 25 and NHL 25 are already current-gen exclusives.
So there is a good chance that FC 26 is the game EA Sports decides to make the transition to current-gen only. But until then, players will still be able to enjoy EA FC on the PS4.
