EA Sports' newest NHL 21 roster update is now live, and it features several highly-anticipated rookies!
Let's dive right into the ratings changes and new players spicing up the NHL 21 roster.
NHL 21 Roster Update - May 5th
With the NHL trade deadline now passed, the May 5 NHL 21 roster update focuses on adding highly-anticipated rookies to their respective NHL rosters.
Spencer Knight - 80 OVR
The highly-touted 19-year-old goalie Spencer Knight has been added to the Florida Panthers roster in the scratched section.
The American gold medalist goalie tips the scales as the highest-rated addition to NHL 21.
Knight tops the new class as an 80 overall with elite medium potential, making him the perfect cornerstone for any Franchise Mode players.
Artem Zub - 79 OVR
The right-handed shooting Artem Zub enters NHL 21 at a 79 overall with Top 6 D potential.
Zub won't ever be a superstar in NHL 21 Franchise Modes, but he's a solid bottom-pairing D that you can use on the penalty kill in Franchise Mode.
Cole Caufield - 78 OVR
2020-21 IIHF World Juniors gold medalist Cole Caufield makes his EA NHL debut with the Montreal Canadiens. Caufield, a natural right winger playing on the left side in EA's update, is a 78 overall sniper.
He has been given an elite medium potential, and at 78 overall should be good enough to play as a bottom 6 forward in Franchise Mode immediately.
Jacob Bernard-Docker - 78 OVR
Jacob Bernard-Docker, a right-handed defenseman enters the series as a 78 overall defenseman with Top 4 D potential for the Ottawa Senators.
He'll probably be good enough to make your Senators roster right away and develop alongside Ottawa's other promising young blue-liners.

Shane Pinto - 77 OVR
Shane Pinto, a 19-year-old playmaker center with Top 6 F potential, is a 77 overall to start.
He should add plenty to a young Senators core with already strong potential down the middle, but doesn't solve for the lack of elite potential centers in Ottawa.
Zac Jones - 75 OVR
Zac Jones, a left-handed defense prospect for the New York Rangers, makes his EA NHL debut in the scratched section of the Rangers' roster.
Jones' 75 overall rating is very generous for an NCAA player making his debut in the series, and the 19-year-old has been given a Top 6 D potential to boot.
