Predicting the NBA 2K22 ratings of the top draft prospects

There are some talented players heading into the 2021 NBA Draft. One of them is Cade Cunningham who is expected to make an immediate impact in the league. It begs the question though, what might his NBA 2K22 ratings be?

And not just him, but the rest of the top prospects. This class is so good that NBA 2K21 has them in MyTEAM packs already! We can use those cards and some information about the players, to predict their NBA 2K22 ratings and how 2K is evaluating them too.

So, let's get started predicting the NBA 2K22 ratings for the top five future rookie prospects in the 2021 NBA Draft.

NBA 2K22 Rookie Rating Prediction

Cade Cunningham, 81 OVR Rating

It'd be a disservice to put any of the other rookie prospects ahead of Cade Cunningham. The 6'8 point guard/small forward has already visited with the Detroit Pistons and signed a multi-endorsement deal with Nike.

FIRST: Cade Cunningham will likely be the highest-rated rookie in NBA 2K22

He averaged 20 points a game in his last season of college basketball and shot 40% from the three-point line.

Jalen Green, 78 OVR Rating

Following closely behind is Jalen Green, who played in the NBA G League last season. The 6'5 shooting guard averaged 17.9 points per game. Green playing in the NBA G League does a lot for his draft stock considering he's likely the most "NBA ready" prospect in the eyes of many teams.

He's also considered the next best player in the draft behind Cunningham.

Evan Mobley, 75 OVR Rating

A significant step back in the ratings, three points behind Green is where we expect Evan Mobley to land. Mobley is a 7'0 forward that has a strong presence and averaged 16.4 points last season.

We'll have to wait and see how he fits into the NBA though, as the extra physicality and athleticism might catch up to Mobley.

Jalen Suggs, 73 OVR Rating

Suggs is a 6'4 guard coming out of Gonzaga and will make a great addition to any team. However, he's also a player that doesn't seem NBA-ready. He's very young and will need time to develop, but over time his rating will certainly go up.

Jonathan Kuminga, 73 OVR Rating

Kuminga is another NBA G League player, who was on the same team as Jalen Green. Kuminga could be the player on this list that jumps forward in our projected rankings, even finishing higher than Suggs. This would mostly be due to his frame as a wing and his averaging nearly 16 points a game.
